Emotional Softness Is Part of Emotional Strength
What if emotional softness is actually part of what makes us strong? In this episode of The Almost Daily Podcast and the Men’s Mental Health Series, I talk about the relationship between vulnerability, emotional awareness, and the version of strength many of us were taught to value. For a lot of men, the message was pretty straightforward.Be tough.Handle it.Do not show too much emotion.Keep moving. The problem is that having emotions was never optional. We were still feeling everything. A lot of us simply were not taught what to do with those feelings once they showed up.I talk about why being connected to your emotions can actually help you handle pressure, why a productive relationship with a therapist can provide tools you can use outside of therapy, and why vulnerability does not take anything away from focus, consistency, resilience, or follow through. In many ways, I think the softer parts help hold the stronger parts together.I also talk about why this can take time. If someone has spent decades suppressing emotions or tying their identity to being the strong one, opening up can challenge the way they see themselves. That deserves patience. At the same time, struggling to process emotions never removes our responsibility for how we treat other people. We can give ourselves compassion while still taking responsibility for our actions and responses. And although I spend a lot of time talking specifically with men about this, the larger message applies to everybody.Human beings have emotions. We need room to feel them, understand them, work through them, express them constructively, and sometimes let them go.If you are in the United States and experiencing a mental health, suicide, or substance use crisis, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. You can also chat through the 988 Lifeline online. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

The Secret Sauce Behind a Forever Active Lifestyle
A lot of fitness content focuses on what you can see.The weight loss. The workouts. The body composition changes. The before and after. What I am much more interested in is the part you cannot see from the outside. What is driving all of it?Are you exercising because you are connected to yourself, or because you are trying to run away from yourself? Are you following an eating plan from a calm, deliberate place, or because you feel like nothing you do is ever enough? That mental approach matters. In this episode of The Almost Daily Podcast, I talk about what I think is one of the biggest pieces of the Your Level Fitness philosophy, learning to operate from a calmer headspace, move at a deliberate pace, and build a relationship with yourself that supports the actions you are taking. You can see somebody following through consistently, but you cannot always see the insecurity, fear, comparison, or pressure underneath it.That is why I keep coming back to loving the body you have and appreciating who and what you see in the mirror. The physical results matter. The actions matter. But if you reach the goal and still feel like you are fighting yourself, there is more work to do.I also talk about why the people you follow and work with matter, because you often absorb more than just their workout advice or nutrition recommendations. You absorb the way they approach all of this. For me, the goal is not just to help you become more disciplined. It is to help you build a forever active lifestyle while becoming more connected to yourself along the way.New to Your Level Fitness?https://yourlevelfitness.com

You Are the Expert on Your Own Life
I have been asking a lot more questions lately. That is intentional. One of the things that has always bothered me about the fitness industry is how quickly people start talking at you. Do this. Do not do that. This is the right way. This is what you should be doing.I think most areas of life are far more nuanced than that.Fitness is actually a really useful place to practice this because so many of the lessons apply elsewhere. Instead of immediately looking for another answer, another rule, or another person to tell you what to do, what happens when you start asking better questions about your own experience?Your situation matters.Your history matters. The way something affects you matters. You are the person who has lived your life, and I think learning to trust your own observations is incredibly important. That does not mean outside perspectives are useless. I am still going to share my thoughts, opinions, and experience. But I want those things to help you think more clearly about your own life, not replace your own judgment. In this episode, I talk about why I am leaning harder into questions across the topic-focused podcasts and social media, why nuance matters so much to the Your Level Fitness philosophy, and why becoming more at ease with yourself can help you make better decisions inside and outside of fitness. If you want my deeper thoughts on loving the body you have, head to YourLevelFitness.com and download the free e-book.And if one of these questions gets you thinking, email me at [email protected].

You’re Going to Get Where You Need to Be
You are going to get where you need to be.That does not mean every day is going to feel productive. It does not mean your thoughts are always going to cooperate. And it definitely does not mean you have to keep pushing at full speed all the time.In this episode of the Almost Daily Podcast, I talk about trusting yourself when life feels heavy, taking the breaks you need without treating them like failure, and staying connected to yourself when your brain starts running toward fear, insecurity, and self criticism. There are going to be moments when you feel like you are behind. There are going to be moments when you feel like you should be doing more. There are also going to be moments when slowing down is exactly what you need. The goal is not perfection. The goal is learning how to move through all of it while staying rooted in yourself.I also talk about why I keep coming back to being in a calm headspace and moving at a deliberate pace. You do not need to live there one hundred percent of the time. You just need to keep returning to it.You have already made it through everything that brought you to this point.Keep pushing forward when it makes sense.Take the break when you need it.Trust yourself enough to know the difference.New to Your Level Fitness?https://yourlevelfitness.com

Is It Intuition, or Are You Just Choosing What Feels Familiar?
We hear some version of “trust your gut” all the time. But what if your intuition is wrong?I do not think intuition should automatically be treated like an answer. I think it is better understood as a hypothesis, something built from our previous experiences, the patterns we recognize, and what we expect to happen next.Sometimes that hypothesis is going to be right.Sometimes it is not.And sometimes what we call intuition may really be familiarity. In this episode, I talk about why familiar situations can give us a false sense of security, especially in areas of life where we have repeatedly had similar experiences. If something feels predictable, we may assume we know exactly how it is going to play out. That can make intuition feel incredibly convincing. It can also keep us exactly where we are.I also get into the difference between intuition and fear. Sometimes saying, “My intuition told me not to do it,” sounds much better than admitting, “I was afraid to do something different.”That does not mean we should ignore our gut feelings. It means we should be willing to question them. When I have a particularly strong feeling about something, one of the questions I like is:What if the exact opposite is true?If my original intuition is strong enough to guide a decision, it should be strong enough to survive being challenged. That allows me to look at the situation from more than one angle and make a decision that includes both emotion and logic instead of simply assuming my previous experiences already told me exactly how the future is going to unfold. There is one important exception. If your intuition is telling you that a person, place, relationship, or situation may be unsafe, prioritize your safety first. You can analyze the feeling later from somewhere safe.Intuition can be useful.I just do not think we need to romanticize it into something that is never wrong. If you’re brand new to Your Level Fitness and want to explore more of my approach to mindset, self-connection, and building a life from the inside/out, start here:https://yourlevelfitness.com

Give Yourself Permission to Slow Down
No matter what you are working toward, I think pace matters more than speed. There are times to move forward. There are times to push. And there are also times when the best thing you can do is step away for a while. In this episode, I talk about why moving at a deliberate pace can be more useful than trying to move as fast as possible.Sometimes that means taking a few minutes.Sometimes it means a couple of hours.Sometimes it means a few days, a few weeks, or even much longer.I have had things that I picked back up years after I thought I was completely finished with them. That does not mean the time in between was wasted.I think we are all trying the best we can, and it is very easy to become hypercritical of ourselves when we feel like we are not moving quickly enough. But there really is not a race.Time is simply continuing to move forward. You do not need to rush yourself through every season. You do not need to force something when it feels off.And you do not need to treat rest like failure.Sometimes stepping back is part of moving forward.Trust yourself to figure out the pace.Give yourself a break, figuratively and literally. Then keep going when you are ready.

You Already Have What You Need to Move Forward
You already have what you need to move forward. To start the new thing. To pick up the old thing. To finally follow through on something you have been thinking about for a long time.A lot of the time, you have not really quit. You may simply not have been ready yet to push things forward in the way they needed to be pushed. And when you are ready, the first step is not something mystical. You believe in yourself. You trust yourself to figure things out. Then you take action. From there, you keep adjusting, evaluating, and moving forward one step at a time. That does not mean you speak something into existence and everything magically changes. It means you make the decision. You say it out loud. You hear yourself say it.Then you start keeping promises to yourself. That is where the reinforcement begins. But I also think there is another important part of this.Go after what you want from a place of appreciation.A lot of people spend years chasing goals because they are trying to get away from who they are now. They believe they will finally feel comfortable with themselves when they lose the weight, make the money, build the business, change their body, or become some different version of themselves. Then sometimes they get there and realize they still do not feel the way they thought they would. So go after the goal.Go after the big one.But learn to be at ease with yourself while you do it.Appreciate where you are.Appreciate where you have been.Trust yourself to figure out the pace. You do not have to rush. You do not have to burn yourself out.You just have to keep moving. You have everything inside you that you need.

How I’m Organizing YLF Around the Topics People Actually Need
I’ve been simplifying the Your Level Fitness website, not because everything needs to look the same, but because everything needs to have a clear purpose. In this episode of The Almost Daily Podcast, I talk about why I’m moving away from large topic based guides and turning many of those areas into living blogs that can evolve as the conversations around fitness, weight management, GLP-1s, food noise, body image and lifestyle continue to change.I also break down how the different parts of the YLF ecosystem are starting to fit together. There is the Love the Body You Have book as a starting point for the philosophy of appreciating who and what you see in the mirror. There are ongoing blogs around body image, building a forever active lifestyle, GLP-1, food noise and my personal experience of being as active as I can while navigating life with cerebral palsy. There is also the Body Noise Guide, where I explore the connection between the mental noise we experience around food and the thoughts and feelings we can experience around our bodies. Then there are podcasts that continue many of those same conversations through audio, personal stories, interviews, observations and real time discussion. The goal is not to make everything uniform. The goal is to make it easier for you to find the format and topic that works for you.I also talk about why I want the GLP-1 and food noise content to stay practical instead of clinical, why lived experiences matter, and why I believe the conversation around body noise is going to become increasingly important. At the center of all of it is the same idea.Choose to love the body you have, build a better relationship with yourself, and create something you can actually live with.Check out everything I’m building at:https://yourlevelfitness.com

Feel It First, Then Find the Gratitude
Gratitude can help us stay grounded, present, and connected to what matters. But I think there is an important part of the conversation that gets overlooked.Sometimes, before you can genuinely feel grateful, you need to let yourself sit in the heavier emotions first. In this episode, I talk about one of those moments for me. I was tired, frustrated, physically worn down, and feeling like I should be getting more done. Eventually, I realized that what I really needed was recovery. That shift helped me recognize how far I have come, what I am capable of now, and how much there is to appreciate. But I do not think I could have gotten there by immediately forcing myself into gratitude.Sometimes you need to feel frustrated.Sometimes you need to feel sad.Sometimes you need to acknowledge that you are spent. Then, when those feelings have had some space, gratitude can help you regain perspective. You can appreciate your life and still have difficult moments. You can be grateful and still need rest. And you can allow yourself to feel what you feel without letting those emotions become the entire story.

Complete but Concise
We live in a world where we’re constantly overloaded with information, choices, content, and expectations.Sometimes the answer isn’t adding more. It’s simplifying what’s already there. In this episode, I talk about the value of making things complete but concise, whether that’s in conversation, on a website, in your routines, or even in the number of choices you give yourself.I also share some of the ways I’m simplifying Your Level Fitness right now, from the website to the shop, and why fewer options can sometimes create a much better experience. The bigger question is where this applies in your own life. What have you already simplified?Where are you still carrying too much? And where might less actually make things easier, clearer, or more enjoyable?Check out what’s going on with Your Level Fitness at https://yourlevelfitness.com

A Hard Year Can Still Be a Good Year
A hard year does not have to become a wasted year.In this episode, I talk about what it can look like to reach this point in the year and realize that things have been heavier, harder, or more complicated than you expected.Maybe this year has taken a lot out of you. Maybe the last few years have. Maybe life has not gone the way you thought it would. That does not mean the answer is to suddenly get everything together, chase every goal, or try to finish strong.Sometimes the biggest win is finding yourself again. It is looking at everything you have been through and realizing that you are still here. You have changed. You have learned. You have been angry, frustrated, sad, disappointed, and maybe even bitter at times, but none of that has to define the entire story.A difficult year can still become a good year if you begin reconnecting with yourself and appreciating the person who made it through. That does not erase what happened. It does not mean every hard thing suddenly becomes meaningful. It simply means you can look at where you are now and recognize that you did not let everything completely harden you.You can still be soft with the people who matter. You can still be open. You can still be proud of yourself. And from there, whatever comes next can come next. The goals can wait. The first win is finding your way back to yourself.

A Different Approach to Body Image, Fitness and Self Appreciation
The fitness industry makes a lot of money marketing against the insecurities we have about our bodies and, at a deeper level, ourselves.I want to do the opposite. In this episode of The Almost Daily Podcast, I am adding another layer to the Love the Body You Have message with the release of the new Love the Body You Have book. This is not a step by step guide telling you how you are supposed to feel about yourself. It is a practical resource designed to help you slow down, ask questions and better understand how you currently see who and what is looking back at you in the mirror. If you already appreciate who and what you see, great. I hope the book gives you an even deeper understanding of yourself. If you do not like how you currently see yourself, I want you to know that the way you have viewed yourself up to this point does not have to be permanent. You can begin asking different questions and gradually create a different relationship with yourself. That is also why the Love the Body You Have Podcast exists. The book gives you a structured place to explore the philosophy. The podcast allows me to continue unpacking it from different angles, reinforcing the message and giving you new entry points depending on what you are navigating in your life. You can still lose weight. You can pursue fitness goals. You can change your body. You can go after everything you want.I just want you to consider what happens when you do those things from a place of appreciation instead of believing you need to change yourself before you are worthy of that appreciation. You already have years of experience being you. You have more knowledge, skills and ability inside you than you may realize. My goal is to help you see it.Love the Body You HaveRead the Love the Body You Have book:https://yourlevelfitness.com/love-the-body-you-have-bookTake a deeper look at how you see yourself, where some of those thoughts and feelings may come from and whether you want to continue seeing yourself that way.Listen to the Love the Body You Have Podcast:https://yourlevelfitness.com/love-the-body-you-have-podcastSubscribe and share the podcast to help us keep putting a different message about body image, fitness and self appreciation into the world.

There Is Always a Way: How Optimism Helps You Find the Next Path Forward
There is always a way.In this episode of The Almost Daily Podcast, I talk about what that really means when you are facing an obstacle, working through a problem, or trying to figure out what comes next.Sometimes the path you are taking is not the wrong path. It is simply the only one you can currently see. There may be another direction through the obstacle that you have not noticed yet.Other times, you may start working toward one thing and end up being led somewhere completely different. That unexpected direction may turn out to be exactly where you needed to go.That is where optimism comes in.Optimism is not pretending life is easy.It is not ignoring reality.Life can be difficult, unpredictable, and frustrating.Optimism is the belief that something better is still possible and that you are capable of finding your way forward.I also talk about being careful with the voices around you when you are trying to figure something out.Sometimes people can see something you cannot, and their perspective may genuinely help you.But sometimes people who have decided to stay stuck are more comfortable when the people around them stay stuck too.You have to learn how to listen, assess what is useful, and ultimately trust yourself to make the decision. You may not know exactly what the path looks like right now.You may even end up somewhere completely different from where you originally thought you were going. But there is always a way forward. And I believe you have what you need inside you to keep figuring it out.

Building Yourself Up Instead of Tearing Yourself Down: What Happens When You Choose Self Appreciation?
What would change if the fitness process helped you appreciate yourself instead of constantly giving you another reason to believe you need to be fixed? In this episode of The Almost Daily Podcast, I talk about why the message Love the Body You Have goes much deeper than simply appreciating your physical appearance. It might start with looking in the mirror and learning to appreciate the body you see. But eventually, the bigger question becomes whether you can learn to appreciate who you see in the mirror too.For years, I have watched the fitness industry market directly against people's insecurities. We are shown what supposedly needs to change, what isn't good enough, and what we need to accomplish before we can finally feel better about ourselves.I want to explore the opposite approach.Instead of tearing yourself down to motivate change, what happens when you start building yourself up?I talk about why I believe learning to appreciate yourself from the inside/out can create a ripple effect that reaches far beyond workouts, weight loss, or body image. How you see yourself influences the decisions you make, the way you respond when life gets difficult, the way you interact with other people, and even the way you allow other people to treat you. This isn't about pretending everything is perfect or believing self appreciation will magically solve every problem. It's about intentionally developing a different relationship with yourself, reinforcing it consistently, and seeing what changes because of it.You would probably offer kindness, compassion, and perspective to someone you care about when they are struggling with how they see themselves.Maybe it's time to start practicing some of that with yourself.Because changing how people see themselves during the fitness process is only the beginning. We might just change how people see themselves everywhere else too.

Staying Connected to Yourself Without Becoming Closed Off
I hope life never hardens you to the point where you lose your softness. There are plenty of experiences that can make us want to close ourselves off. Hurt. Disappointment. Broken trust. Relationships that did not go the way we hoped. Moments that make us want to say, “Never again.”And protecting yourself can feel like the safest option. But there is a difference between having boundaries and building walls around yourself. In this episode, I talk about staying connected to who you are while still being thoughtful about who gets access to you and how much access they receive. Different relationships deserve different levels of closeness, but I think being connected to another person is something worth treating as a privilege.I also get into forgiveness, change, accountability, and the willingness to say what you need while being open to hearing what someone else needs from you.None of that guarantees you will never get hurt again. You probably will. But completely closing yourself off can create its own kind of pain. You may protect yourself from certain experiences, but you can also end up disconnected from people, opportunities, and even parts of yourself.Life gives us the chance to change every day.We can appreciate who we are while still acknowledging where we need to grow. We can apologize when we have caused harm. We can genuinely change our behavior. We can learn from what happened without allowing the past to determine how we experience everything that comes next.Stay present. Stay connected to yourself. Keep your boundaries. But do your best not to lose your softness along the way.

You Can Acknowledge the Barriers Without Living in Them
There are real barriers that come with living with cerebral palsy and with having a visible disability.I have experienced frustration, anger, bitterness, limitations, and situations where cerebral palsy absolutely affected what I was able to do. I also understand why conversations about ableism, accommodations, access, and fairness can carry so much emotion. At the same time, I do not want my life to become an ongoing us versus them conversation. In this episode, I unpack why I believe both things can be true. We can acknowledge the realities of disability while also asking ourselves what we are going to do with the life and circumstances we have.My experience with cerebral palsy is my own. Someone else with the same diagnosis may have completely different challenges, abilities, support needs, and opportunities. That nuance matters. But I still believe there is value in asking ourselves a simple question. What am I going to do next? There are times when we need accommodations. There are times when we need help. And if we are trying to accomplish meaningful things in any area of life, disability or not, we are probably going to need other people along the way. That is different from allowing frustration, resentment, or comparison to become the place where we stay.I also talk about why I am not trying to convince people who have already decided they completely disagree with how I see things. The people I care most about reaching are the ones somewhere in the middle. The people who know they want something different but have not completely decided what direction they are going to take. You can acknowledge what has happened to you. You can be angry about it. You can recognize the barriers in front of you.And you can still decide what you want to do from here.

Small Human Connections Can Make a Bigger Difference Than You Think
Lately, I’ve been making a point to get out into the world a little more.Walking around shops. Going through the regular checkout line instead of using self checkout. Meeting people for coffee or lunch. Making eye contact. Having small conversations that probably would have seemed completely ordinary years ago.But now, they feel different. When so much of our work, communication, entertainment, and everyday life happens through a phone or laptop, I think there is real value in intentionally reconnecting with the physical world around us.In this episode, I talk about why those small moments of connection have been helping me mentally and emotionally, especially while navigating some of the ups and downs that naturally come with life. You can be optimistic, grateful, and genuinely appreciate where you are while still carrying heaviness. Those things can exist at the same time.I also get into why I’m trying to record these episodes closer to when they actually come out. I want these conversations to reflect what is happening in my life in something closer to real time, even if that means the schedule is not always perfectly predictable.A lot of life right now feels like putting together a puzzle while some of the outside pieces are still moving. And maybe that is part of it.We keep adjusting. We keep connecting. We keep working through what we need to work through while still appreciating where we are.

Do Not Lose Yourself in the Noise
It is easy to lose yourself in the pace, pressure, responsibilities, and noise of everyday life.In this episode, I close out the week with a simple reminder to stay connected to who you are. None of us will feel completely grounded all the time, but the more we understand ourselves, trust ourselves, and lead with compassion, the easier it becomes to find our way back.I talk about the importance of not getting completely lost in your work, your roles, or everything happening around you. I also share why self-trust matters so much when life feels uncertain. You may not have every answer right now, but you can learn to trust yourself to figure things out as you move forward. This is also an invitation to slow down over the weekend, spend time with the people closest to you, and remember that life moves quickly. You do not have to do everything perfectly. You only have to keep doing the best you can.In this episode:Why staying connected to yourself is an ongoing practiceHow easy it is to lose yourself in everyday lifeLearning to trust yourself through uncertaintyLeading with more compassion toward yourselfMaking space to slow down and reconnectRemembering that doing your best is enoughTake some time this weekend to step away from the noise, reconnect with yourself, and be present with the people who matter most.Thank you, as always, for listening. I will talk to you again on Monday.

What Kind of Influence Do You Want to Have?
In this episode, I reflect on where I fit in the online world and why I've never been interested in building a business around views, viral videos, or brand deals. Instead, I'm building something much more meaningful to me: a business centered around helping people change the way they think and feel about themselves.I share why I see myself as a business owner first, content creator second, and why every podcast, email, article, product, and live stream serves the same mission, helping people learn to love the body they have and appreciate who they see in the mirror. We also explore the difference between influencing someone to buy a product and influencing someone to believe something healthier about themselves. That distinction has shaped every decision I've made with Your Level Fitness.Along the way, I discuss authenticity, setting boundaries between your public and private life, and why understanding your role, whether online or offline, can bring more clarity to the work you do.In this episode:Why I don't consider myself a content creator firstThe difference between chasing views and building a businessWhat "influence" really means to meWhy changing how people see themselves matters more than selling productsThe role authenticity plays in building trustKnowing what to share and what to keep privateBuilding an online presence that reflects your values instead of algorithmsWhether you create content, run a business, or simply want to live more intentionally, I hope this episode encourages you to think about the kind of influence you want to have on the people around you. We "including YOU" Are Changing the Fitness Industry
In this episode, I share the bigger vision behind Your Level Fitness and why I believe it's time to change the conversation around health, fitness, and body image. The message is simple: Love the body you have.Everything else grows from there.I talk about why the fitness industry has spent decades convincing us we're never enough, and how I want Your Level Fitness to become part of a different movement, one that encourages appreciation instead of criticism and confidence instead of shame.I also pull back the curtain on the Your Level Fitness shop and explain why every design, every product, and every quality decision reflects that mission. When you wear one of these designs, you're not simply wearing a shirt or hoodie. You're helping spread a message that encourages people to appreciate who and what they see in the mirror.Along the way, I share my thoughts on coaching, why information should be freely available, the difference between information and context, and why my focus is helping people build a healthier relationship with themselves that lasts long after the weight loss journey. In this episode:Why "Love the Body You Have" is bigger than a taglineHow the fitness industry profits from insecurityWhy appreciation creates a stronger foundation than self-criticismThe difference between free information and personalized contextHow Your Level Fitness products support a larger missionWhy quality matters just as much as the messageBuilding a movement that helps people appreciate themselves for lifeIf you've ever felt like fitness left you chasing a finish line that never seemed to bring lasting confidence, I hope this episode offers a different perspective. Love the Body You Have
What does it actually mean to love the body you have?In this episode, I dive deeper into the message that's becoming the foundation of Your Level Fitness: Love the body you have. It's a simple phrase, but there's so much more beneath the surface.I share why loving your body isn't about pretending everything is perfect or never feeling frustrated. It's about learning to come back to appreciation, even after difficult moments, setbacks, injuries, or negative thoughts.I also open up about a recent experience with my cerebral palsy, a shoe change that led to a chain reaction of injuries, and the honest frustration I felt with my own body. That experience reminded me that loving the body you have doesn't mean you'll never struggle. It means appreciation becomes your default, even if it takes time to get there.Along the way, we explore why so many of us are really searching for something much deeper than weight loss or a different appearance. More than anything, we're searching to be at ease with ourselves. In this episode:Why "Love the Body You Have" has become the guiding message of Your Level FitnessThe difference between being at peace with yourself and being at ease with yourselfWhy body appreciation isn't the absence of frustrationMy recent experience navigating injuries while living with cerebral palsyHow gratitude helps bring you back after difficult momentsWhy fitness is the vehicle, not the destinationBuilding habits that support your quality of life for years to comeIf you've ever felt frustrated with your body, questioned what you see in the mirror, or wondered if you'll ever feel comfortable in your own skin, I hope this conversation reminds you that you're not alone. Take a Moment to Appreciate Yourself
Before you move on to the next goal, take a moment to recognize the effort you've already made.In this Friday reflection, I encourage you to pause and appreciate how far you've come, not just this week, but throughout your entire journey. It's easy to focus on what still needs to be done, but growth happens when we acknowledge the small steps, the consistent effort, and the willingness to keep showing up.No matter what your week looked like, you've learned something. You've taken steps forward, adjusted when necessary, and continued building the life you want. As you head into the weekend, I hope you give yourself permission to slow down, catch your breath, and appreciate the person you're becoming. In this episode, I discuss:• Why taking time to appreciate your effort is an important part of growth.• How recognizing progress builds confidence for the future.• The value of reflecting on your week without judging yourself.• Why personal growth is about continuing to move forward, not being perfect.• How slowing down and taking a breath prepares you for what's next.Sign Up for the Journal PromptsIf you'd like to continue these conversations through personal reflection, sign up for my weekday Journal Prompts. Just Try And See
What if success wasn't about getting everything right the first time?In this episode, I share why one of the most powerful mindsets you can adopt is simply, "Let's try it and see what happens." Whether you're pursuing a new goal, building a business, improving your health, or making a change in your personal life, the path rarely unfolds exactly as you imagined.Instead of viewing unexpected outcomes as failures, I encourage you to see them as part of the process. Every step you take provides new information, new opportunities, and a better understanding of what works for you. The key isn't having a perfect plan. It's trusting yourself enough to begin and adjusting as you learn along the way.Your journey is ongoing, and every experience helps shape what comes next.In this episode, I discuss:• Why taking the first step is often the hardest part of pursuing a goal.• How trying something new changes the way you experience uncertainty.• Why plans naturally evolve once you begin taking action.• The difference between learning through experience and labeling yourself as a failure.• How trusting yourself creates opportunities you couldn't have predicted from the beginning.Sign Up for the Journal PromptsIf you'd like to continue these conversations through personal reflection, sign up for my weekday Journal Prompts. "That's Just the Way I Am" May Be Holding You Back
We've all said it before."That's just the way I am."Sometimes it's a way of describing ourselves. Other times, it's a way of avoiding a deeper question. In this episode, I invite you to become curious about the habits, reactions, and behaviors you've accepted as permanent.Instead of criticizing yourself or becoming defensive, what if you simply asked why? Why do I respond this way? Where did this habit come from? Is this still serving the person I want to become? We'll explore how curiosity creates opportunities for growth, why self-awareness is more productive than self-judgment, and how even small shifts in the way we respond can change our relationships, our confidence, and the way we experience everyday life.Growth doesn't begin by becoming someone else. It begins by understanding yourself a little better. In this episode, I discuss:• Why "that's just the way I am" can become an excuse that keeps us from growing.• The difference between approaching yourself with curiosity versus self-criticism.• How understanding your habits and reactions can lead to meaningful change.• Why small adjustments in your responses can improve your interactions with others.• How choosing who you want to become is more powerful than accepting who you've always been.Sign Up for the Journal PromptsIf you'd like to continue these conversations through personal reflection, sign up for my weekday Journal Prompts. Understanding Why Certain Things Get Under Your Skin
Getting offended is something we've all experienced. Sometimes it's obvious why something bothers us, and other times our reaction catches us by surprise. In this episode, I explore why it's worth paying attention to the things that offend us instead of simply dismissing the emotion or trying to avoid it. Rather than asking whether you're "right" or "wrong" for feeling offended, I encourage you to ask a different question. Why did this affect me the way it did? We'll also discuss the relationship between respect, boundaries, and personal responsibility, along with why understanding your own emotional responses can help you build greater self-awareness. The goal isn't to judge yourself. It's to better understand yourself. If you've ever found yourself saying, "That's just the way I am," this episode invites you to look a little deeper. In this episode, I discuss:• Why being offended can reveal important information about yourself.• The difference between setting healthy boundaries and expecting others to change.• How self-awareness helps you respond instead of simply react.• Why understanding your emotional triggers leads to personal growth.• The importance of being honest with yourself without judging yourself.Sign Up for the Journal PromptsIf you'd like to explore these ideas on a deeper level, sign up for my weekday Journal Prompts. Stay Calm When Life Feels Like It's Moving Fast
Every season of life brings change. Some chapters are winding down, others are just beginning, and sometimes it feels like you're standing right in the middle of both.In this episode, I want to remind you of something simple but powerful. You are going to get through whatever is in front of you.Rather than relying on temporary motivation or hype, I encourage you to trust yourself. You've already navigated every challenge you've faced up to this point. Even when things felt uncertain, you found a way forward. This next season is no different. We'll talk about why building confidence isn't about pretending everything is easy. It's about believing that you can adapt, learn, and keep moving forward one step at a time. My hope is that you leave this episode feeling encouraged, not because life will suddenly become easier, but because you already have the ability to handle what's ahead. If you're currently in a season of transition, this episode is for you.In this episode, I discuss:• Why every season of life brings new opportunities and new challenges.• The importance of trusting yourself instead of waiting to feel completely ready.• Why calm confidence often creates more lasting progress than short bursts of motivation.• How to move forward at a deliberate pace without burning yourself out.• A reminder that you've overcome every obstacle you've faced so far, and you can continue doing the same.Sign Up for the Journal PromptsIf you'd like to take these conversations a step further, sign up for my weekday Journal Prompts. Happy Friday
You made it through another week. Take a moment to appreciate that.In this episode, I reflect on the importance of celebrating your progress, disconnecting from technology, and giving yourself permission to slow down. We spend so much time chasing the next goal that it's easy to overlook the effort we've already put in. Building a forever active lifestyle isn't just about workouts and nutrition. It's also about pacing yourself, being present in your life, and creating space to rest and recover. As you head into the weekend, take time to recognize your victories, disconnect when you can, and remember that consistency is built over years, not just days.To dig deeper into the topics discussed in the Almost Daily episodes, sign up for the journal prompt emails:https://yourlevelfitness.com/email

You Deserve A Calm Mind
What's the ultimate goal of your fitness journey? For many people, it's a number on the scale, a clothing size, or a specific body composition. But what if the real goal is something much deeper? In this episode, I share one of the few absolutes I believe when it comes to fitness, weight loss, and life. You deserve to move through your health journey without guilt, shame, or anxiousness surrounding your eating, exercise, or the person you see in the mirror. We explore why the mental tug of war matters more than most people realize, how emotions influence every decision we make, and why creating a calm headspace allows you to approach your health with greater clarity and consistency. The actions still matter. The results still matter. But the foundation is learning to approach those actions from a place of peace rather than constant internal conflict. To dig deeper into the topics discussed in the Almost Daily episodes, sign up for the journal prompt emails:https://yourlevelfitness.com/email

Trade Years For Decades
What if the goal wasn't just to lose weight, but to build a foundation you could rely on for decades? In this episode, I explain what I mean by "trading years for decades" and why giving yourself permission to figure out what truly works for you can completely change your relationship with fitness and weight loss. We explore building your foundation around your preferences, what you're willing and able to do, and how creating a plan you can always return to makes consistency much easier over time. The challenge isn't finding the perfect program. It's building one that evolves with you through every season of life while reducing the mental tug of war that so many people experience around eating, exercise, and body image. To dig deeper into the topics discussed in the Almost Daily episodes, sign up for the journal prompt emails:https://yourlevelfitness.com/email

Weight Loss Is The Byproduct, Not The Goal
If you've been on a weight loss journey, chances are you've spent a lot of time chasing a number on the scale. But what if that number isn't actually the goal?In this episode, I explore why weight is better viewed as the byproduct of consistent actions rather than the primary focus. We talk about the relationship between actions, emotions, and results, why our bodies respond differently even under similar circumstances, and why acknowledging the emotional side of fitness can change the way you approach your journey for the long term. The goal isn't to ignore results. It's to focus on the things you can influence every day while building a healthier relationship with yourself throughout the process. To dig deeper into the topics discussed in the Almost Daily episodes, sign up for the journal prompt emails:https://yourlevelfitness.com/email

Changing What People Focus On In Fitness
What if lasting success in fitness has less to do with finding the perfect plan and more to do with changing what you focus on?In this episode, I share why I believe the fitness industry has spent decades teaching us to chase outcomes instead of building a healthier relationship with ourselves. We talk about appreciating yourself at every stage, building a forever active lifestyle, and why the goal isn't to become someone else. It's to become more connected to who you already are.The Almost Daily Podcast is here to reinforce that decision each day, and the journal prompts are designed to help you explore what these ideas mean in your own life.If you'd like to connect more deeply with the topics from the Almost Daily Podcast, sign up for the weekday journal prompt emails:YourLevelFitness.com/email

Progress Deserves to Be Appreciated
efore you jump into planning next week or thinking about what's next, take a moment to pause. In this Friday episode of the Almost Daily Podcast, I encourage you to step back, reflect on the past week and month, and appreciate the effort you've been putting in. Progress isn't only about chasing the next goal. It's also about recognizing the growth that's already happened, celebrating the wins that often go unnoticed, and learning from the challenges without letting them define you.We talk about why reflection isn't the same as settling, how being present creates a healthier relationship with your goals, and why appreciating yourself at every stage of your journey makes the entire process more sustainable. When you slow down long enough to see how far you've come, you create the foundation to move forward with more confidence, patience, and purpose.Whether this week felt like a victory, a setback, or something in between, there's value in taking a breath before you take your next step.If you'd like to go deeper on these everyday topics, sign up for the weekday Journal Prompt Emails:https://yourlevelfitness.com/emailEach email is designed to help you reflect, build self awareness, and strengthen the mindset that supports lasting growth, one day at a time.

How to Stop Living in Survival Mode
Today let's explore the difference between building a life intentionally and spending your energy avoiding failure. Real discipline isn't about pushing yourself to the limit every single day. It's about staying connected to yourself, operating from a calm headspace, moving at a deliberate pace, and consistently making decisions that support the life you're trying to build. We talk about why self criticism keeps so many people stuck, how to recognize when you're creating unnecessary mental battles, and why making small adjustments is often more powerful than trying to overhaul your entire life overnight. I also share why "playing to win" isn't about perfection. It's about trusting yourself, redirecting when needed, and continuing to move forward without making every setback mean something about your worth. If you've been feeling overwhelmed, burned out, or caught in the cycle of starting over, this episode will help you rethink what long term success actually looks like.If you want to go deeper into these everyday conversations, sign up for the weekday Journal Prompt Emails at yourlevelfitness.com/emailEach prompt is designed to help you reflect on the daily topic, strengthen your mindset, and build a more intentional relationship with yourself, one day at a time.

The Only Thing You Need to Be Certain About
What's the difference between confidence and certainty? At first glance, they seem almost interchangeable. After all, we all want certainty. We want guarantees that our efforts will pay off, that we'll make the right decision, and that things will work out exactly as planned. But the truth is, life doesn't offer that kind of certainty. In today's Almost Daily Podcast, I explore why confidence isn't about knowing exactly how everything will unfold. Instead, it's about trusting yourself to figure things out no matter what happens. When you stop waiting for guarantees and start believing in your ability to adapt, confidence becomes much more accessible. We'll also talk about why so many of us naturally collect evidence that supports our self-doubt instead of our strengths, why trusting yourself is more important than trusting the process, and how redirecting your thoughts can help you build a stronger relationship with yourself over time.If you've been waiting to feel "ready" before taking action or believing in yourself, this episode is a reminder that confidence comes first. The actions you take afterward simply reinforce the decision you've already made to trust yourself.Ready to go deeper? The journal prompts that accompany today's Almost Daily episode are designed to help you strengthen your self-trust, examine the beliefs you hold about yourself, and practice choosing confidence before certainty. Do You Consider Yourself a Kind Person?
Do you consider yourself a kind person? It's a simple question, but the answer reveals a lot about how you see yourself, how you interact with others, and the kind of life you're building. In today's Almost Daily Podcast, I explore why kindness isn't just something we give to other people. It's something we cultivate within ourselves first. As we begin appreciating ourselves from the inside out and quiet the mental tug of war that so often comes with fitness, weight loss, and everyday life, we create more space to lead with compassion instead of frustration. We'll talk about why kindness doesn't mean becoming a doormat, the importance of healthy boundaries, and how choosing compassion can change not only your own experience but also the way other people experience you. Even when kindness isn't returned, it has the power to make your own life lighter and more aligned with the person you want to become. This episode is a reminder that confidence, self appreciation, compassion, and kindness aren't separate ideas. They all grow from the same foundation, building a healthier relationship with yourself so you can create healthier relationships with others.Ready to go deeper? The journal prompts that accompany today's Almost Daily episode will help you reflect on what kindness means to you, how you treat yourself, and how that shapes the way you show up for others. Who's Living in Your Head Rent Free?
Who's living in your head rent free?We all have people, memories, conversations, or opinions that seem to occupy our thoughts long after they should have been let go. Sometimes they motivate us. More often, they quietly shape our decisions, influence how we see ourselves, and steal the calm headspace we need to move forward. In today's Almost Daily Podcast, I challenge you to think about who or what continues to take up space in your mind, why they're still there, and what it would take to finally let them go.We'll explore why operating from a calm headspace and moving at a deliberate pace creates better decisions, healthier relationships with yourself, and a stronger foundation for building the life you actually want. While letting go isn't always easy, choosing to redirect your thoughts is a skill that becomes stronger with practice. If you've ever caught yourself replaying old conversations, carrying someone else's opinions, or allowing the past to influence your present, this episode is an invitation to reclaim your mental space.Ready to go deeper? The journal prompts that accompany today's Almost Daily episode are designed to help you reflect on who's taking up space in your mind, why they're still there, and how you can begin creating a calmer, more intentional mindset. Instead of asking how to lose the weight, more people are asking how to maintain it, improve their quality of life, and create habits they genuinely enjoy for years to come.In this episode, we discuss:• Why the conversation is shifting from weight loss to long term weight management.• How consistency is becoming more valuable than relying on motivation.• Why quality of life is becoming a more meaningful measure of success.• The growing role of mental and emotional health in long term weight management.• How building a sustainable lifestyle is becoming more important than following the perfect plan.I also share why lasting success comes from creating an approach that fits your preferences instead of forcing yourself to follow someone else's system. When your eating habits, movement, and routines support the life you actually want to live, maintaining your progress becomes far more realistic than constantly chasing another diet.If you're ready to move beyond temporary weight loss and begin building a forever active lifestyle that works with your life instead of against it, this episode will help you think differently about what long term success can truly look like.If you want to continue the conversation around building a forever active lifestyle, join the live streams:https://yourlevelfitness.com/stream

The Planning Trap That Keeps You Stuck
Yesterday, I talked about the idea that real change happens when you're ready. Today, I want to take that one step further.Being ready doesn't mean you have every answer. It doesn't mean you've mapped out every step from where you are today to where you want to be. In fact, trying to create the perfect plan often becomes another way to avoid taking action.Confidence isn't knowing exactly how everything will work out.Confidence is trusting yourself to figure it out.In this episode, I explore why so many people spend months researching, planning, and preparing without ever making meaningful progress. We talk about the difference between planning and action, why perfectionism keeps us stuck, and how trusting yourself is a decision you make before you have proof.I also discuss something that has become increasingly important in today's fitness world.Health and fitness can teach incredible life skills, discipline, consistency, resilience, patience, and self awareness. But those skills are meant to become a foundation for the rest of your life, not your entire identity. If your workouts, meals, and recovery only account for part of your day, what are you building with the rest of your time?Your forever active lifestyle should support your forever life.In this episode:Why waiting for the perfect plan delays meaningful progressWhat confidence actually looks like in everyday lifeHow overplanning becomes a form of procrastinationWhy perfectionism creates its own self fulfilling prophecyThe difference between preparing and actually taking actionHow to apply the lessons from fitness to every area of your lifeWhy building a meaningful life matters just as much as building a healthy bodyIf you've been waiting until you feel completely ready, this episode is your reminder that the next step is almost always more important than the perfect plan.Want to go deeper on what we talk about on the Almost Daily Podcast? Rather than chasing another physical transformation, more people are beginning to recognize that lasting confidence is built by improving the relationship they have with themselves from the inside out.In this episode, we discuss:• Why body image is increasingly becoming part of the mental health conversation.• How self perception is becoming more important than appearance alone.• The growing connection between food noise and body image.• Why intrusive thoughts about our bodies deserve more attention.• How long term self appreciation is replacing short term appearance goals.I also share why changing the way you see yourself cannot be solved by weight loss alone. Lasting confidence comes from building a healthier relationship with who you are, appreciating yourself through every stage of life, and creating habits that support both your physical and emotional well being. If you've been working to improve your body image, rebuild your confidence, or create a healthier relationship with yourself beyond the mirror, this episode will help you think differently about what long term progress can really look like.If you want to continue the conversation around body image, join the live streams:https://yourlevelfitness.com/stream

Why You Can't Force Yourself to Be Ready
What if the biggest breakthrough isn't finding the perfect plan, but recognizing when you're genuinely ready to begin? In this episode, I explore the idea that meaningful change rarely starts with a dramatic moment. More often, it's quiet. It's a calm realization that it's time, followed by a willingness to trust yourself enough to take the first step.I also share why I believe so much of the self-development industry misses the point. No book, course, or motivational speech can make you ready before you actually are. When the time comes, you'll know. The confidence isn't loud. It's the quiet belief that you'll figure things out as you go.In this episode, we discuss:Why lasting change usually begins quietly, not dramaticallyThe difference between feeling pressured and feeling readyWhy stopping and restarting often means the timing wasn't rightHow trusting yourself creates a calmer approach to growthWhy being comfortable in your own skin changes everythingIf you've been wondering why you haven't started yet, this conversation may help you stop judging yourself and start trusting your own timeline.Want to dig deeper into knowing when you'll be ready to start? Instead of chasing another set of food rules, I'm exploring why building a lifestyle around your own preferences may be one of the most important shifts happening in health and fitness today. In this episode, we discuss:• Why food noise is becoming part of everyday conversations with doctors, coaches, and individuals.• How understanding your relationship with food goes beyond calories, macros, and willpower.• Why building habits is becoming more valuable than constantly fighting cravings.• The growing recognition that emotions around food deserve attention instead of being ignored.• How sustainable living is gradually replacing rigid dieting rules.I also share why removing food noise creates an opportunity to build a life that reflects what you actually enjoy, not just another nutrition plan. When your eating habits support the life you want to live, consistency becomes much easier to maintain for years instead of weeks. If you've been trying to move beyond dieting and build a forever active lifestyle that fits your preferences, this episode will help you think differently about what lasting success can actually look like.If you want to continue the conversation around food noise, join the live streams:https://yourlevelfitness.com/stream

Are You Chasing a Goal or Chasing a Ghost?
Have you ever imagined what reaching your goal would feel like, only to realize the reality didn't match the picture in your head?In this episode, I explore the idea of "chasing ghosts." We often create a mental image of what success, weight loss, confidence, or achievement is supposed to feel like. We watch other people, imagine ourselves in their position, and begin chasing an emotional destination that may not even exist. The challenge is that even when we reach the goal, the feeling we expected often doesn't arrive. Instead of finding peace, we move the finish line and begin chasing the next version of success.I share why I believe it's more helpful to focus on moving in the right direction rather than becoming attached to a specific destination or emotional outcome. Your direction can evolve as you learn more about yourself, and allowing that flexibility can help you avoid burnout while creating a calmer, more sustainable approach to growth. In this episode, we talk about:Why we create imagined versions of successHow chasing a feeling can become a mental prisonThe difference between pursuing a direction and obsessing over a destinationWhy expectations often keep us from recognizing real progressHow calmness can become a better guide than constant pursuitGrowth isn't just about reaching the next milestone. The Hidden Weight We All Carry When Feeling Like We're Not Enough
What if the thing you think makes you different is actually something nearly everyone experiences? In this episode, I explore why so many of us carry the quiet belief that we're falling behind, not doing enough, or somehow don't measure up. Even when we make progress, achieve goals, or experience success, it's easy to wonder whether it's enough or whether we truly belong. We talk about why failure is a normal part of growth, why those old self critical thoughts don't simply disappear, and how learning to redirect them is far more realistic than expecting to eliminate them completely. Rather than seeing failure as proof that something is wrong with you, it can become evidence that you're continuing to learn, adapt, and move forward. In this episode, we discuss:• Why everyone experiences failure more often than they admit• The difference between failing and being a failure• How imposter syndrome keeps us questioning ourselves• Why comparison creates the illusion that everyone else has it figured out• Learning to redirect self critical thoughts instead of believing them• Building confidence through self trust rather than perfectionIf you've been carrying the weight of feeling like you're the only one struggling, this conversation is a reminder that you're not alone. Progress isn't about never failing. It's about continuing to move forward, learning from the setbacks, and trusting yourself to figure things out along the way.Want to see what's happening at Your Level Fitness?https://yourlevelfitness.com

The Internet Doesn't Have to Be This Way
Social media has changed dramatically over the past two decades. What started as a way to connect with people has slowly become a place filled with comparison, validation, and constant noise. But what if we decided to use it differently? In this episode, I wrap up this week's conversation by sharing why I still believe social media can be a powerful tool for connection, encouragement, and personal growth when we approach it with intention. Instead of letting it shape how we see ourselves, we can use it to reinforce the life we're already working to build.I also share how my own experiences with fitness, coaching, and building relationships have shaped the philosophy behind Your Level Fitness, and why lasting confidence comes from connecting with yourself before seeking validation from anyone else.In this episode, we explore:• Why social media doesn't have to become the center of your life.• How to use the internet to build meaningful relationships instead of chasing attention.• Why a forever active lifestyle is about creating a life you genuinely enjoy.• How confidence grows through consistent action and self connection.• Why your intentions matter more than the numbers attached to your posts. At the end of the day, social media is just a tool. The life you're building away from your screen is what gives everything else meaning. Focus on becoming the person you want to be, support others who are doing the same, and let your actions reflect the life you're creating. To learn more about what we're building at Your Level Fitness, visit yourlevelfitness.com.

Some People Are Public About Their Failures
One of the biggest misconceptions about social media is that people only share their wins. While that certainly happens, the more important question is this: what are you doing with your own setbacks? In this episode, I share why failure has been one of the greatest teachers in my life and why every setback, misunderstanding, and missed opportunity has shaped the person I continue to become. The goal isn't to avoid failure. It's to learn from it, take ownership where it's appropriate, and keep moving forward. We also explore why people will always have different opinions of you, why those opinions don't have to define you, and how forgiveness, both for others and for yourself, plays an important role in personal growth. In this episode, we discuss:• Why failure is often the beginning of growth, not the end of the journey.• How taking ownership helps you move forward with greater clarity.• Why you get to decide which labels you accept and which you leave behind.• How social media can reinforce the stories you already believe about yourself.• Why forgiveness and self reflection are essential parts of long-term growth.Life will always include setbacks, unexpected turns, and moments that don't go according to plan. What matters most isn't avoiding those moments. It's deciding what you'll learn from them and who you'll choose to become because of them.To learn more about what we're building at Your Level Fitness, visit yourlevelfitness.com.
