Advent: Peace

In this last Advent message, Pastor Dave returns to Isaiah 9:1–7 and Luke 2:8–20 to reflect on Jesus as the Prince of Peace. Spoken into a world of darkness, grief, fear, and unrest, God’s promise is clear: “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light.” That light is Christ.Through the announcement to the shepherds—outsiders and overlooked by society—we see that peace does not come through power, wealth, or circumstances, but through the presence of Jesus. From the manger to the cross to the resurrection, Christ offers a peace the world cannot give: a peace that heals, restores, and sends us out transformed. This message reminds us that peace is not the absence of trouble, but the presence of Christ. The Prince of Peace has come—and peace still enters wherever Jesus is welcomed.
