Send us a text with a question or thought on this episode ( We cannot replay from this link)We are joined by Heather Guidone from the CEC in an empowering conversation about:-How far education for endometriosis has come since Heather started her journey looking up text in the library.-What pushed and continues to be the push for Heather to advocate -What positive advocacy looks like-How change will ultimately come on the shoulders of the patients and advocates.-Communicating the core of what endometriosis is, is what needs to be a primary goal.-The challenge in communicating what the core of endo is when Samson's theory is still the primary education in med school, governing bodies, and many publication-Why informed consent is crucial for patients to receive care that is best for them and their bodies-Endo has long lasting effects on our bodies, therefore it's important to improve future generation's outcomes, through advocacy.-How we have learned to advocate for ourselves-The progress and roadblocks that have been faced with legislation that's already in place, as well as legislation being brought to the forefront and/or passed - Showing compassion, grace, and kindness to those properly advocating for other endo warriors, goes a long way.This conversation is packed with valuable conversation. We need to continue to have these conversations so true tangible change happens.
