Advocating to Make Our Classrooms Safer

from Uncorked with Funny Wine Girl · host Jeannine Luby

Even though my guest and I enjoyed some laughs over some of life's ridiculousness and some commonalities, this week's episode explores probably the most serious topic yet that has been discussed on Uncorked with Funny Wine Girl. We're talking about school shootings.    It was my pleasure to have as my guest, Amye Archer, the co-editor of If I Don’t Make It, I Love You: Survivors in the Aftermath of School Shootings (2019), a collection of primary narratives written by those who’ve lived through school shootings. Her memoir, Fat Girl, Skinny, was published in 2016. Amye holds an MFA in Creative writing and lives with her husband and two children in Pennsylvania.  https://www.amyearcher.com/ This is not a one-sided conversation as this topic is much more complicated and deserves better than that. I hope that you'll listen to the entire episode and even if you do not agree with some (or all) of what is said, I hope you will be inspired to do more research on your own or get involved in some way to help make our classrooms safer.  If you enjoy listening to this podcast, please subscribe and share with someone else who will enjoy it.  And as I say each week, I appreciate you from the bottom of my heart and the bottom of my wine glass! https://funnywinegirl.com/
