The African Rail Industry Association has welcomed the decision by Transport Minister, Barbara Creecy to approve 11 private train operators to partner with Transnet on South Africa's rail network. Creecy made the announcement following the publication of the Network Statement in December 2024. This is what the minister had to say, with regards to employment opportunities to be created by the move. We also spoke to  CEO of the African Rail Industry Association, Mesela Kope-Nhlapo
