2010 release that probably represents the apogee of my technical ability with a tracker. The track started as an intentional attempt to write "demoscene-like" music that was more about atmosphere and sound than musicality. I got to the 0:42 mark with the piece and then stalled for a few years, unsure of how to continue; ultimately that's the point where I moved into more of a traditional "song", but I kept some of the sounds from the beginning as recurring bits throughout the piece, and in general did my best to layer a lot of different things in, including just noises and sound effects, instead of just having a small number of instruments all playing musical lines. Here I was also influenced by e.g. The Chemical Brothers and other popular music groups whose sound often included various sweeps, sirens, and other noises. I have a variety of incomplete bits of songs in my tracking folder, but I don't know that I'll ever complete another one in Impulse Tracker -- I'm likely to do any future work in Reason instead. So this is probably my fond farewell to a couple decades of tracking. So long, and thanks for all the fish.
