AI on the Ice: Revolutionizing Hockey Analytics with Noah Gans

This week, I sat down with Noah Gans, the co-founder of Statsyuk, a sports tech startup that is closing the data gap in the hockey industry. Noah shares his transition from a traditional career path in finance and private equity to diving headfirst into the world of entrepreneurship after a close friend approached him with a vision to modernize sports analytics. The conversation explores why hockey has historically lagged decades behind sports like baseball and golf in terms of data accessibility. Noah explains how Statsyuk utilizes computer vision—the same AI video analysis technology used in self-driving cars—to track player movements and deliver individual metrics without the need for expensive wearable hardware.
