アクション五輪書03：演技論

＜演技論＞ ●演技も格闘表現としてのアクションも、共通点は（特に映画の場合）振付けの遂行が要求されるということである。そのことを理解していれば、何のことを言っているか、容易にわかるはずだ。 ●彼のいう「本能と制御の調和」の、本能とはありのままに自然に（振付けに囚われず）動くこと。そして制御とは振付けを忠実に遂行することを指している。 ●本能を極端にすれば、振付けを無視した無茶苦茶な動きになる。これを非科学的と喩えている。 ●また制御を極端にすれば、振付けに完全に囚われた融通の効かない硬い動き、不自然な動きになってしまうということを機械人間に例えている。 ●つまり理想は、振付け遂行にも自然さを加えること、もしくは自然さの中でも振付けを遂行すること、ということになる。つまり振付け優先でも自然な演技優先でもない中庸であるということ。それをピエール・バートンに陰陽と言わせている。（インタビューなので、話の内容は事前に打ち合わせ済み＝台本がある。） ＜まとめ＞ アクション表現と共通する演技論について。 振付け遂行と自然さの共存（＝動きを通して自分自身を表現すること）が重要であることを説いている。 原文 It might sound too philosophical, but it's unacting acting or acting unacting....if you know... You are to combine the two in harmony. Not...if you have one to the extreme, you'll be very unscientific. If you have another to the extreme, you become, all of a sudden, a mechanical man...no longer a human being. So it is a successful combination of both, so therefore, it's not pure naturalness, or unnaturalness. The ideal is unnatural naturalness, or natural unnaturalness. Pierre: Yin/yang, eh?
