from WZND’s Podcasts · host WZND Podcasts
Jackson Wang is a rapper, singer, and songwriter from Hong Kong, China. He is also a member of the Kpop group GOT7. Wang currently has 2.1 million monthly listeners on Spotify. His new album, MAGICMAN 2, released on July 17, 2025. The album contains 11 tracks and has a running time of 34 minutes. The main track of the album is “Made Me a Man.” The song is a slower one, definitely different from Wang’s other main tracks in the past. The song is about finding someone who makes him want to leave his immaturity and youth behind. One of my favorite songs off the album is “Access.” This song is a bit more upbeat and definitely has R&B influences. It just itches the right part of my brain. This song is about being attracted to someone and falling for them. Another favorite of mine is “Hate to Love.” This song is slower and has funk influences written all over it. The bass in it is just too good. This song is about someone who you’ve lost trust in and has betrayed you. “Sophie Ricky” is another favorite of mine. Again another slower song, but those funk and R&B influences have a chokehold on me. It’s such a beautiful song about falling in love and the support from one another in a relationship. Overall, this album really surprised me. I’m more used to the music Jackson Wang makes in GOT7 than his solo stuff. But I liked this album more than I thought because of his funk and R&B influences. I highly recommend you give this album a chance! Favorite Tracks - “Access”, “Hate to Love”, and “Sophie Ricky” Rating - 8/10
