As Alex states, it was working with the 'Canadian Mafia' as the band also worked with Nickelback producer Chris Baseford. The bands back catalog is also discussed. The bands debut full-length album was guided under the direction of eight-time Grammy winning mixer Michael Brauer. This was an album that blended a modern heaviness with a polished arena-ready production style. The album features a great cover of Audioslave's 'Cochise'.The conversation goes into discussing Alex's love for Metallica and seeing the band live 10 times. Black Sonic Pearls did a great cover of the Metallica classic song 'Fuel'. Alex eludes to the fact that his favorite Metallica albums are from the 90's - 'Load' and 'Re-Load' - which may be surprising to some, but the conversation talks about why these albums are so great right down to the production of Bob Rock. There is depth within the music which may have alienated some fans, but these albums really have so much 'soul and emotion' as quoted by Alex. Songs such as '2 X 4', 'Ronnie' and 'The House That Jack Built' are brought up. Of course talking of more recent Metallica albums - 'St. Anger' is brought up and Alex elaborates on his feelings towards that release.
