Alfred Packer: The Colorado Cannibal

Alfred Packer was a man with very little, who in the winter of 1874 spent 57 days trapped in the San Juan Mountains with a group of fellow prospectors. He was the only one who would make it out alive.Those he encountered afterward found it suspicious that he appeared well-fed, healthy, and a whole lot richer. When questioned about the fate of his companions he stated that they had abandoned him.Packer eventually admitted to eating the other men to survive.
