All About Angels - Their Purpose and Ministry

from The Cosmic Citizen · host Paula Thompson

Charles Laurence Olivea (link to bio) was raised in New York City and received his second Masters from St. John's College, at Santa Fe, where he now lives with his wife of 43 years. Charles is a professional educator who has been inspiring students for 41 years. Charles started reading and studying The Urantia Book in 1968, and attended his first study group in 1970. He believes anybody could benefit from dipping into it and highly recommends reading it from cover to cover. Abraham Lincoln is his moral and intellectual role model. He has studied extensively Lincoln's speeches and writings to better understand what it is to be an American and how to use power while avoiding the corruption of power. He says that he loves the quality of Lincoln's mind: especially his use of reason, as well as his moral character. Martin Luther King is Charles' spiritual role model mainly because of his capacity to act and forgive his enemies. Charles says, "This Fruit of the Spirit of MLK's -- forgiveness -- lead me to forgive my own enemies. Because of him, Jesus came more alive for me when I was a young man." Charles is ever the teacher and ever the student. The subjects of great interest to Charles are history, religion, spirituality, national and international politics, and art history, with a special interest in eugenics, race, biology, and ethics. He has pursued a special interest in angels since childhood and has collected hundreds of images of Angels in human art. He has, of course, been engaged for a number of years in studying them. He recalls praying to his Guardian Angels from an early age. There are few that we know of who could speak more poignantly to the nature of Angels and Angelic ministry than could Charles. We hope you will feel free to call in during the second hour of the show and ask Charles any questions you may have about angels.
