AM Briefing — Thursday, August 27, 2026 | ES & MES Futures
from The AM Briefing — ES & MES Futures
5 Lessons From Today's AM Briefing The whole tape sat on one earnings report and one line on the chart. NVIDIA reported after the close, and until the RTH session digested it, every level was provisional. Here is what today was actually teaching. Lesson 1: Range rules above everything Price lives inside ranges, bouncing between the same walls. Identify the range first, then look for shorts at the top and longs at the bottom. Lesson 2: Trade for the breakout, do not time it Chasing the pop is low odds. Station yourself at the range edge, take the entry, and hold a lotto runner so the break pays you when it comes. Lesson 3: The first push back into a range usually fails When price leaves a range and returns, the first re-entry attempt tends to get rejected. That is why the Bull Bear Line short was on the plan. Lesson 4: A runner into an earnings bomb is reckless Holding a lotto runner through NVIDIA earnings can gap right over your stop. A good setup does not make that risk a good decision. Lesson 5: Slow, event-driven days are training time When one event owns the tape, moderate expectations and let price prove direction. Work the Core Strategy and mark your levels while the market is not paying.
