Can someone truly stop believing in Jesus and still be saved? What happens when a once passionate Christian later walks away from the faith?In this sermon we explore that difficult question through the remarkable and troubling story of Charles Templeton. Once a close friend and ministry colleague of Billy Graham, Templeton was considered one of the most gifted evangelists of his generation. Yet later in life he publicly rejected Christianity and wrote the book Farewell to God.So what does this mean? Did Templeton lose his salvation? Was he never saved? Or is there another possibility that Scripture allows us to consider?Looking at biblical passages alongside the testimony of Templeton’s early life and ministry, this sermon wrestles with the deeper issue: Can someone stop having faith in Jesus and still belong to Him?
