Dirty Epic welcomes aboard @siriogryj for its 98th episode of Amplify Series. Born in Rome late in the 80s, where he took his first steps deejaying and producing with Black Sam Records around 2010, he became the founder of 'Monolith Records' in 2014. As deejay, sound designer, resident of the former eclectic platform 'Liber Null Berlin', art director of the event series 'Metamorphosis Berlin', Sirio Grimaldi aka Sirio Gry J have been proposing sounds and concepts able to destabilize and renew the scene of Berlin during the last decade. Focusing on crafting, disclosing and supporting meaningful electronics, the mission to push the boundaries and deconstruct the standard methods led him to forge a unique dark aesthetic as the fruit of an uncompromisable vision which led to establish an identity that made him a key figure in the most underground circuits of the darker music scene of the arty Berlin. His work also reached the attention of Alessandro Bavari, Italian pioneer of the digital arts (also more recently director of the special effects sequences of Ridley Scott’s ‘Alien Covenant’), with whom he collaborated for several videos as sound designer and musician since 2017. Born in Rome and relocated to Berlin after studying music production in London, he’s been regularly playing in the most iconic clubs that consecrated the Berlin scene during its golden years (such as Berghain Säule, Tresor, About Blank, Grießmühle, KitKat Club, Suicide Circus, Arena Club, Urban Spree, OHM-ex Shift… to name a few) and exported his unique dj sets over Europe (in France, Italy, Greece, United Kingdom, Latvia) and Asia (Japan, South Korea, Taiwan), while releasing tightly on labels like Furanum Records, Overdraw, Mechanical Thoughts, Several Reasons along with the regular contributions for his own imprint Monolith Records and Liber Null Berlin.
