Continuando nuestra semana dedicada a recordar la importancia de la mujer, nos acercaremos a la música de la pianista y compositora estadounidense Amy Beach. Esta música cuyo debut en público ocurrió a sus 7 años, programa en el que incluyó una pieza compuesta por ella, realizó estudios musicales en una escuela privada en Boston. Amy cuyo apellido Beach pertenece a su esposo, luego de su matrimonio sólo compuso y publicó sus obras, no era bien visto socialmente que hiciera presentaciones en público. Sin embargo, logró el suficiente reconocimiento como para que se le pidiera que compusiera una pieza coral para la Exposición Universal de 1893 en Chicago. Hoy escucharemos de esta música Romance de manos de la violinista Geneva Lewis acompañada al piano por Marisa Gupta.
