An Audacious Prayer

from PRAISE 106.5 Moments · host Purposely

It is 1953 Seattle, Washington. A man named Mike Martin is holding a letter in his hand from a local radio station. It says, “No. Canceled.” He can't continue the 15-minute radio program that he currently uses to reach troubled teens with the love of Jesus. He prays and God gives him the idea to start a Christian radio station.Putting a radio station on the air is a tall order and Mike doesn't have the money needed for it. He doesn't know engineering or how to apply for a license, but Mike and his wife Vivian keep praying about it.In November 1954, the station God gives Mike signs on the air. Today it's still going strong and it's part of what's known today as CRISTA Ministries. And without that first radio station, there would be no PRAISE 106.5 the station you are listening to right now. Millions of people have heard the gospel on the radio over the years because of prayers offered in faith. At CRISTA Ministries throughout 2024, we are celebrating 75 years of God's faithfulness, and we want to thank you for being part of our journey, and part of our family. You can learn more about CRISTA Ministries and hear more faith building stories from the past 75 years by texting the word FAITH to 866-729-1065.
