Even Through Depression God Can Use You
Some days I talk about Jesus while barely having the strength to get out of bed. Some days I’m showing up with a smile, and other days—like today—I’m showing in from the middle of the mess of depression, still learning how to breathe and trust God when the weight feels heavy. But maybe that’s exactly where His grace meets us, not after we’ve “fixed” everything, but right in the thick of the struggle. If you’re in that place too, you’re not disqualified. God works beautifully through people who are still in process.Click PLAY for encouragement today. You're not alone in this.

NEW Brant Hansen Original Song: "Too Fresh, Too Clean"
Brant here, reporting live from the front lines of Workplace Aromatic Warfare, where the air is thick with… well, everything. You know that moment when you walk into the office and immediately wonder if someone tried to baptize themselves in a vat of “Mountain Thunderstorm Noir”? Yeah, Sherri and I stumbled across a news item about folks begging their coworkers to tone down the cologne, and let me tell you, it hit me right in the sinuses.Naturally, my first instinct was to grab an acoustic guitar and write a song. Thus was born “Too Fresh Too Clean,” a heartfelt workplace intervention ballad staged in a conference room, where HR gentlysays, "Your performance is outstanding, but your musk oak is… aggressive."I went deep for this one. I researched fragrance terminology like I was preparing for a TED Talk titled “Tonka Bean: Friend or Foe?” I learned that cedar, vanilla, oak, and musk aren’t just things you find in a forest... they’re apparently things you can weaponize in a professional environment. Click PLAY for a song that’s equal parts cautionary tale and olfactory public service announcement. And if you’ve ever wondered whether your “signature scent” might be staging a hostile takeover of the office air supply, this one’s for you.

God Didn't Say We Need to Know Everything

The Relief of Being Loved as You Are
There’s something unbelievably freeing about realizing that God’s love isn’t a prize we earn but a gift that flows straight from who He is. When we finally stop trying to perform our way into His approval, the pressure lifts and gratitude takes its place. And from that place of rest, we can simply say, “Lord, help me love You more,” knowing His love came first and never depends on our perfection.

From Purchase to Deep Analysis: Brant Found His Soul Hose
We’ve all bought something simple, like a garden hose, only to be asked for a full psychological evaluation survey afterward, and honestly, we can’t help laughing about it. As we peruse our way through the survey questions after my (Brant's) recent purchase, we broke the experience down to this:The store had the hoseThe buyer was thrilledThe hose is now his “soul hose.”We think it's cool that everyday moments don't exactly need deep analysis… but it's fun to play them out like they do.

Brant & Sherri on Praying Scripture Into Life
As we talk through Joshua’s reminder to keep God’s Word close—on our lips, in our thoughts, shaping our days—we’re struck by how much peace and steadiness it brings. Sherri shares how she personalizes Scripture, praying verses like Colossians 1:9–11 out loud and letting those truths settle into her heart. It’s a simple practice, but in a world that’s always shifting, having God’s Word to lean on gives us something solid to stand on.Press PLAY below to listen in.

Brant Hansen on Calling Out in Faith
Some moments in Scripture remind us that even when we can’t feel God nearby, we can still call out to Him with confidence. Brant and Sherri revisit the story of two blind men in Matthew 20 who, unable to see Jesus but certain He was near, cried out until He stopped and restored their sight. This highlights a comforting truth for all of us: faith isn’t about always sensing God’s presence, but trusting that He hears us anyway. It’s a reminder that reaching out—right where we are—is enough.

Breaking Animal News: The Spywhale Who Might Just Be Better at Making Friends Than We Are
Brant & Sherri pause their regularly scheduled chatter to bring you some very important breaking animal news — because when a beluga whale shows up wearing what looks suspiciously like spy gear, you don’t just keep that to yourself.Off the coast of Norway, a friendly “spywhale” has been spotted cozying up to humans, sporting a halter that suggests it may have once been on the payroll of the Russian defense ministry. Brant & Sherri report that this unusually social beluga not only enjoys human company but even lets people boop its nose, which is apparently not standard beluga protocol. No wild theories here — just Brant and Sherri marveling at a possibly ex‑military whale who really, really loves attention.

Honorary Doctorate: Spoiling Baby Goats
On the Brant Hansen Show, even an ordinary Tuesday can turn into “graduation day.” In classic Brant fashion, honorary doctorates are being handing out to listeners whose everyday skills deserve a spotlight. This episode’s standout scholar?A listener requesting a doctorate in spoiling baby goats — a field so niche that Brant briefly misheard it as “spoiling baby ghosts,” which, honestly, would’ve raised even more questions. But misunderstanding aside, the committee (which is just Brant and Sherri laughing) agreed she has absolutely earned her honorary status, tears over sold goats and all.

Honorary Doctorate: Bulletin Layouts
Brant and Sherri’s beloved “institution of higher learning” — the ever‑improvised Brant Hanson Show State University Tech, A&M — is back in session, and the honorary doctorates are rolling out faster than they can update the clip‑art certificates.Listeners have been flooding the phone lines to nominate themselves, and this week’s graduating class is a masterpiece: Heidi Hackney earns her degree in church‑bulletin layout excellenceJanae Wilson is honored for her unsolicited but enthusiastic driving coachingJen Malone receives a well‑deserved doctorate for surviving her first homeschool graduate. It’s academia… but with way more laughter and significantly fewer accreditation standards.

Honorary Doctorate: Veggie Tales
Graduation season always brings big feelings, and Brant & Sherri are fully prepared to cry over nieces, nephews, and probably anyone wearing a cap and gown.In the spirit of all this emotion, they’ve officially declared their show a “doctorate‑granting institution,” where the standards are low, the degrees are imaginary, and the only requirement is that you’re awesome at something — anything.Listeners were invited to call in and claim their honorary expertise, which is exactly what Evan did.Fresh off his real college graduation, he requested a doctorate in Veggie Tales, proudly declaring himself the top scholar in his friend group.Brant immediately granted it, reacting with the kind of heartfelt enthusiasm usually reserved for actual diplomas, proving once again that this is the most supportive fake university on the planet.

Honorary Doctorate: Delayed Argument
Graduation season has officially arrived at the most prestigious, loosely organized, completely imaginary institution in the nation: The Brant Hansen Show State University Tech Institute, Inc. A&M.In true “willy‑nilly university” fashion, Brant and Sherri are once again handing out honorary doctorates with all the pomp of a real ceremony… plus clip art. This week’s distinguished “graduates” include Carolyn Torrella, honored for her remarkable ability to think of the perfect comeback days after an argument, and Shelly Grindy, who earned a double doctorate for both moving half a ton of base rock in a day and locating a black cat in the dark like a superhero.

Brant's Take on Aesop's Fable of the Lion with the Thorn in it's Paw
You think you remember Aesop’s fable—sweet boy, injured lion, mutual gratitude. But in this version, the lion doesn’t just remember the kindness… he comes back years later wearing a tailored suit, carrying a briefcase, and offering pro bono legal services because that thorn “really opened doors.”It’s the kind of peculiar twist that makes you wonder why more classic stories don’t end with surprise courtroom representation.

Brant Hansen on the Soothing Sounds of Nature (Some Restrictions Apply)
There’s nothing quite like learning that science says nature sounds can lower stress, ease pain, and boost your mental health. Lovely, right? Peaceful waterfalls… gentle rain… maybe a soft breeze through the trees. But when you work in the “sound business,” like Brant and Sherri do, you can’t just leave it at that. Oh no. Brant wants to help everyone relax by offering the soothing ambiance of bees. Yes. Followed by the calming hum of a box of baby bobcats. Because nothing says serenity like imagining yourself surrounded by stingers and tiny, furious kittens."Just relax and let it wash over yourself."Sherri, naturally, isn't buying it.Click PLAY for the convo!

God Has Perfect Peace and is Never Caught Off Guard
If you’ve ever imagined God scrambling in heaven—calling an emergency meeting, angels rushing around with clipboards, everyone trying to figure out what to do about your latest crisis—it’s a funny picture, but it couldn’t be further from reality. God is never surprised, never caught off guard, never muttering, “Well… I didn’t see that coming.”Instead, Scripture paints a completely different image: God is steady, unshaken, joyful, and at peace. While we may feel overwhelmed, He never is. And that’s exactly why He becomes the safest place to run when life feels anything but calm. When everything in us wants to panic, He invites us into the peace that comes from knowing the One who is never rattled by what rattles us.

Sunshine, Tulips, and Spring Joy at Lakeland Flowers
Thanks to a streak of glorious sunshine, Lakeland Flowers in Abbotsford decided spring just couldn’t wait—so the tulip fields opened early, bursting into color like they hit “fast‑forward” on the season. With millions of tulips (yes, millions!) in nearly 100 varieties, it’s basically a real‑life rainbow growing on the old Sumas Lake bed. And with long hours, evening piano music drifting through the fields, and food trucks waiting to feed your adventure, it’s the kind of spring outing that feels equal parts joy and totally doable for families, couples, and anyone who just needs a little color in their week.

Breaking Animal News: The Moose Who Just Wanted a Snack and a Movie
A moose wandering into a movie theater is already wild, but the way this one casually followed the velvet ropes like it was late for its own showtime is next‑level.Honestly, who among us hasn’t marched straight to the concession stand after a long day, ready to demolish the nearest popcorn bucket without making eye contact. And the moose leaving just as calmly as it arrived feels like the ultimate “I came, I snacked, I’m done with people now” energy we all aspire to.

A $1,000 Tip in the Middle of Chaos
So there’s this Mexican restaurant up in Kent, Ohio, and one Saturday night everything that could go wrong absolutely did. Orders backed up, people waited for hours, and the restaurant later described the whole night on Facebook as “complete amateur chaos,” which—honestly—might be the most honest restaurant post ever written. But here’s the part that stopped me: a couple sat there for three hours, never got food, never got drinks… and still left a $1,000 tip on their way out. That kind of undeserved kindness is such a picture of grace—because if we’re honest, we’re all that restaurant sometimes, failing spectacularly, and God keeps being good to us anyway.

Saying Yes to God’s Invitation to Partner with Him
Sometimes God drops a simple idea into your day that hits deeper than you expect, and that’s exactly what happened when I heard someone describe Scripture as the story of a God who keeps looking for partners. He keeps inviting imperfect people into His work, not because they’re flawless, but because He loves to work through willing hearts. That thought stuck with me so much that it even shaped my prayer:“Lord, if You’re still looking for partners… yes. You know I’m a sinner, but the answer is still yes.”It’s a reminder that God isn’t asking for perfection—just availability.

Animal News: Cat Living Quadruple Life
I was emotionally unprepared for today’s breaking animal news, which involves a man discovering his beloved cat starring—quite confidently—in real estate photos of a house down the street.Turns out “Freddy” has been living a bold, unapologetic quadruple life, complete with multiple families and apparently zero shame.Honestly, I can’t decide what hurts more: the betrayal… or the fact that the cat didn’t even try to hide it.

Spiritual Amnesia
Some days it feels like we’re all walking around with “spiritual amnesia,” forgetting the very things God just proved He could handle.Sherri found an old journal entry from a year before she took her current job—full of confusion, stress, and a shaky decision to trust God—and seeing how He worked it all out brought her to tears. If I’d been journaling back then, mine probably would’ve just said, “Lord, please send me a smart, theologically solid, funny coworker,” and, well… look how that turned out.Click PLAY for faithful reminders on trusting Jesus in all things.
