Anatoly Liberman is a linguist, medievalist, etymologist, poet,  translator of poetry, and literary critic. Liberman is a professor in  the Department of German, Nordic, Slavic and Dutch at the University of  Minnesota and publishes a blog, "The Oxford Etymologist".
