Andy Belanger aka Bob “The Animal” Anger – GPYS 275

from 9to5 (dotcc) Podcast Network (Montreal)

The Montreal arts and entertainment podcast that asks freelance comic book creator (and pro-wrestler) Andy Belanger: “What is your favorite childhood book?” – asked by comedian Elie Gill back in episode 274. “I want to be a comic book creator by day and a pro-wrestler by night” sounds like the kind of thing you would say to a high-school councilor right before they yelled at you like the Teacher in Another Brick in the Wall Part 2.  But that’s exactly the life that Andy Belanger leads. As one of the co-creators of Lethal Comics Andy Belanger brings independent comics (like his own Mother Trucker) directly into your hands thanks largely in part to the power of Kickstarter *cough cough* get notified when Mother Trucker 3 campaign goes live right now *cough cough*. As a pro-wrestler Andy becomes Bob “The Animal” Anger and wrestles at indie wrestling events all over Montreal. Perhaps most notably as one half of the tag-team “SeXXXy Beasts” over at IWS. Because this is a wrestling episode Walter invoked the clause in his GPYS Legends Contract to jump on as co-host and we recorded this one live (to tape) at the back of Grumpy’s on Montreal’s historic Bishop Street. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
