Angsty Teen Goth Style in Ginger Snaps (2000)

To finish October, we're talking about 2000's Ginger Snaps on the pod this week! The film, which Marie describes as the Canadian precursor to Jennifer's Body, is about two sisters named Ginger and Brigitte who are super close (and super angsty!). One day, Ginger gets her period for the first time, AND bit by a werewolf, and becomes a real ravenous b****! There are a lot of parallels between this and Jennifer's Body, such as the opposites-attract dynamic between the sisters, the blood-hungry transformation, and even the makeover moment reveal that happens during an iconic slow-motion, walking down the hallway scene. Costume designer Lea Carlson put Ginger and Brigitte in oversized cardigans, maxi skirts, thin choker necklaces, and animal skull jewelry.
