This episode: BASKETBALL IS DISCUSSED It's more than just books at aadl.org LET'S BE FRIENDS: CINEMA One thing we hear a lot in the library, and just in the general socialmedia-sphere is "where can I go to meet people to hang out with?" We started a series called LET'S BE FRIENDS and host regular themed versions of events where we welcome anyone interested in the topic to gather at a library, meet, chat, and maybe make some pals. This Wednesday, we have Let's Be Friends: Film and Cinema! 6-7pm at the Downtown Library. Maybe you like bad movies. Maybe you like high art movies? Maybe you like horror movies? Comedies? Whatever. I'm sure someone who shows up here will like something you do and then you can chat and see if you want to be pals. FRYBREAD COOKING DEMO AND TASTING If you're familiar with frybread and want to watch someone make it, talk about it, and eat it, come to the Downtown Library on Sunday, June 28 from 4-5:30pm at the Downtown Library! If you don't know what frybread is, well you're in for a treat! Frybread is a flat dough fried in oil, shortening, or lard with origins in the Native American community and it's delicious with a deep history. Learn about it and try it this Sunday! SUMMER GAME CODE I was out last week for stuff and someone texted me in the morning saying that Scott Vertical was giving me the business on the air. And we've heard this sometimes—Scott, why are you so mean to the kind, charming, ruggedly handsome library rep Rich Retyi? Now folks, I hear you, but I'm here to say, Scott is just kidding around. He doesn't mean it. And that's the code: HEDOESNTMEANIT 150 points! Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
