Docteure en physique, Annick Castiaux entame sa carrière à l’UNamur en tant que chercheuse en physique, au Laboratoire de Physique du Solide, sous la direction de Jean‐Paul Vigneron et grâce au FNRS. En 1998, elle rejoint le secteur privé. Devenue consultante en gestion de l’information chez I.R.I.S. SA, elle découvre le fonctionnement des organisations tant publiques que privées. Quelques années plus tard, elle revient à l’UNamur où elle est engagée comme chargée de cours au département de gestion de l’UNamur pour développer le programme d’ingénieur de gestion et initier des recherches en gestion de l’innovation. Depuis 2002, elle enseigne la gestion des technologies et de l’innovation, en intégrant toujours davantage un questionnement critique concernant la responsabilité sociétale et le développement durable. En 2015, Annick Castiaux fonde avec quelques collègues le Creativity and Innovation Research Center, une des composantes du Namur Digital Institute. Leurs recherches amènent à étudier les écosystèmes d’innovation. En septembre 2017, elle est nommée Vice‐rectrice en charge de l’enseignement, la qualité, du numérique, de la communication.
