Anora

Julia Washington (Prose and Glow) and Natalie are dissecting their complicated feelings on Best Picture winner, Anora. Anora is written and directed by Sean Baker and tells the story of an exotic dancer named Ani who after a whirlwind couple of days finds herself married and then divorced by a Russian wealthy man named Vanya. This episode will cover what fell flat for both women when it came to Ani’s character development, the worldbuilding, and whether or not Anora really deserved all the praise it was getting for being a movie about an empowered woman and a statement against how wealthy people in an Oligarch treat the working class.
