Los efectos sobre la salud de la radiación utilizada en telefonía móvil es un tema que no solo no nos ha abandonado desde que surgió, hacia finales del pasado siglo, sino que ha ido tal vez aumentando en importancia. A principios de 2002, una noticia relativa a alarmantes casos de cáncer infantil en el colegio García Quintana de Valladolid, que algunos atribuyeron a la presencia de antenas de telefonía móvil en los alrededores del colegio, desató las alarmas. Ya entonces Jorge Laborda escribía un artículo sobre el tema y ahora se pregunta: ¿Qué hemos averiguado hoy sobre los efectos de la radiación electromagnética usada en telefonía móvil? Una reciente revisión, publicada en marzo de 2021, de los 107 últimos estudios realizados sobre este asunto indica que no se ha podido encontrar evidencia rigurosa que muestre efectos perniciosos de este tipo de radiación.
