! [English] Hello friends, I hope you are all very well, Zuni is here again and today with something that was a surprise for me. I often pass by the place, because right there there is an avocado plant and its neighbor is the famous Araucaria plant. Its fruit is very similar to pineapple or pineapple and every time I asked, I was told that it was not consumed. Of course, I did not stay with that and started to look for information and who seeks, finds. I found several publications telling me how I could consume it. ! [English] I'll tell you why I try to find out if the fruits I find on my way are edible. It all has to do with my childhood. We lived in the countryside surrounded by a lot of vegetation and wild fruits. I don't know why my mother forbade us to eat them. When I arrived in the big city, I found out that those "wild" fruits were pumpkins, eggplants and more. That's why nowadays I see a wild plant and I start to find out if they are edible. The universe gives us everything we need to feed ourselves and not depend on industrialized products. ! [English] As you will see in the video, I always involve my family and especially the children. Going to the place with a bag, with a lot of heat, beating our hands on the house to be attended and asking for permission. In this case they never answered us and since the plant was on the land where the train passes, we went in and collected the ones that were there. We came back tired, very hot and to process what we had collected. When we inculcate to do and not just say, children value more the daily efforts we make. Marcelo is already cured of fright and always supports our crazy ideas and of course tries everything. ! [English] As always I clarify that this is not a recipe, since I'm honestly improvising as I go along. As you will see in the video, first we remove the seeds, then we wash it and put it to boil for about 40 minutes. Then the hardest part is to break the seeds, to take out the content inside. It looks a lot like a large garlic and its texture is very similar to cassava, with a sweetness similar to sweet potato. There are many varieties of araucarias, so I don't know if they all taste the same. ! [English]To try it, I sautéed it with butter and garlic, and it turned out to be a really delicious snack. I also saved a large part of it to make another dish. It consisted of a sauce or tuco, with pork and vegetables, accompanied with araucarias. It was very delicious. ! [English]Araucarias have many properties and are natural. I invite you to get them, look for information about their benefits and try them. As I always say, I hope to inspire you to look for alternatives in the kitchen and not fall into canned and industrialized foods. But as long as they are happy, we always will. *Thank you, thank you, thank you. See you next time. ✨ 🏃‍♀🏃‍♀🏃‍♀Recursos - Resources🏃‍♀🏃‍♀🏃‍♀ Créditos a los logos de Hive, 3Speak y CreativeCuisine.
