The Archdiocese of Philadelphia is closing a century-old church in Delaware County. Immaculate Conception in Marcus Hook will shut down next month. It opened in 1917 as a parish for Italian Catholics. It merged with St. John Fisher in 2013. That church in Boothwyn has since served as the main house of worship for the area. The archdiocese says Immaculate Conception has been used for only one wedding and three funerals over the past two years.
