Are we Allowing God to Nurture the Seeds in Us?

from Sunday Homilies with the Redemptorists · host Novena Church

Coming from a family of green fingers, Fr. Terence initially struggled to grow anything himself. When he finally succeeded in growing some vegetables, it was a spiritual experience for him. He recognized the inherent rhythm of life, a rhythm that cannot be rushed but must be respected. This inspired him to ponder on the mystery of life: How can something so small as a seed transform into a thriving plant? Drawing parallels on his personal journey with gardening and Jesus’ teachings on the realities of God’s Kingdom, as conveyed in today’s readings, Fr. Terence explains three points for us to contemplate and apply in our lives. Similar to a mustard seed, can we, in the pursuit of doing good, exercise patience and grant God the freedom and time to nurture it into its full beauty? -Sunday Homily by Fr. Terence wee, C.Ss.R.
