Are We Experiencing a "Woke" Moment in Safety Thinking?
from Safety Chats Podcast
Is this "new" thinking toward safety (HOP, Safety 2) a "woke" movement within the aviation industry? The movement could be described as a shift in focus from frontline to the organizational system as the result of a failure, but could that shift go too far?In this episode we discuss rather the focus on the organization's role is perhaps not as new of a concept as proponents are making it out to be. Has the correlation between individual responsibility and the responsibility of the system already been evident in organizations where leadership and safety culture are vibrant? Perhaps we don't need to go out and embrace a new movement, or an "awokeness" towards safety but keep our leadership and safety culture vibrant and healthy.Contact Safety Chats Tweet us at @BaldwinAviationConnect on LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/company/baldwin-aviation-safety-&-compliance/ Follow on Facebook @BaldwinSafety Email us at [email protected] more about Safety Management System’s at www.BaldwinSMS.com Thanks for listening and stay safe!
