First one was like 88th minute, he picked the ball from midfield, beat two guys and slipped it to Lautaro. Then 90+3 he did it again — same thing, calm pass and boom 2:1. In my efootball recreation it played out almost the same way. I was already tired and ready to accept a draw then Messi just decided to cook. Two assists back to back in added time. That’s why people call him the GOAT honestly. When it matters he shows up. As soon as that second goal went in my whole hostel went crazy 😭 The Argentina fans couldn’t hold it in. Some guys in my hostel got one small Keke and they climbed on top of it. No lie, they were standing on top of the vehicle rounding the full student area shouting “Messi! Messi!”. Horns were blowing, people were running out of their rooms in slippers. It was like the hostel turned into Buenos Aires for 10 minutes. Everybody was singing Argentina songs and saying “if not for Messi we were dead”. Those two die minute assists gave them life. It was actually funny because some England fans in the hostel were quiet the whole time, then Messi did his thing and they just vanished 😂 But the vibe was mad. Even people that don’t watch football came out because of the noise. The Keke guys kept going round and round the student area till security told them to stop. We were all just hyped because of how Argentina stole it late. 2:1, Messi with two assists in the die minutes, and a whole celebration in my hostel with people standing on top of a Keke.
