Welcome to the rise and shine where you're going to be sharing with you today some steps about receiving from the Lord through prayer And I know we've talked about prayer a lot on our show and that is what we do is Christians We that's how our relationship works with father is through prayer and through relationship with him and receiving what he has for us Is is the essence of being a Christian? Otherwise our relationship would be one-sided and so through the provisions that Jesus has made There are ways to receive the promises that God has for you in his word through prayer And we're gonna expound on that a little bit today And we hope that you're able to join us and hope that you receive everything that the Lord has for you Please connect with the rise and shine by visiting our Facebook page at Facebook.com slash a rise and shine TV show or emailing us at a rise and shine TV at gmail.com We look forward to connecting with you Well, we're talking about prayer and about Steps to taking certain steps to assure that your prayers can be answered We kind of live in a world and I know in a religious world Especially where prayer is kind of like the role of the dice or you know Maybe maybe you'll get your prayer answered or maybe you don't and and we just see me Listen, I've just been so aware We've just seen so many, you know that you can just tell that they are struggling in life and they are Not able to receive from the Lord See the Lord has made provisions for us and he salvation is so much more than just being born again And when you die getting to go to heaven, you know Jesus said that I have come that you may have life and have it in abundance one translation says that you may enjoy life to its fullest You know and so salvation begins the moment you're born again and and he's redeemed us from so much and he's made so many provisions for us And and it's God's will for every believer to be able to receive that He wants us to be able to receive from him It brings joy to him when he's able to answer our prayers and bring the provisions of heaven and things that he's made available for us through Christ Jesus into our lives it just blesses him And on the flip side of that when we don't receive our prayers answered from the Lord It causes discouragement in us and then an uncertainty about where we're at and what we're doing and it can go as far as does God even exist You know and so you need to stay in a place of fellowship And in a place where you are able to receive what belongs to you so that you can keep that that following of the Lord intact You know you don't lose hope and don't lose your sight of why you're doing what you're doing Yeah, guys Really your ability to communicate with the Lord is going to be the heart and soul of of your Christian walk You know if you if you kind of you know he's kind of so vague and you know You can come to that place where does he really even exist? I mean he never has to up to me, you know, but he he doesn't I mean he receives the sincerity and the genuineness of our heart But you can't approach him just any way you want to and and we say a lot of things We say a lot of things and we tag it prayer, but I would probably you know just in a rough guest of it I mean, this is just a guest of it. There's probably a very very high percentage of things we call prayer that he can't answer He can't do anything with it because it's not because it's not based on the realities of the truth of his word and it's not in faith You know, so you can't just do anything you want to do and say anything you want to say and then expect him You know to conform to you, you know It's it's up to us to find out what his word says and and approach him in a way that he's asked us to approach him And and then we're sure that we have the results and that's why God's word so important.
But first of all, let's Look, we want to we want to go through these seven steps and let you know what they are now These are things that this the format of this is not original with us It's been around for probably 40 to 50 years It's been around a long time, you know, but but and we actually had read the books that these came out of you know And it's funny how you can read a book. You don't really know you read it's like oh that was really good You know, which really didn't it didn't sink in you didn't grasp it, you know But down the road, you know, we've had experiences in life where that The Spirit of God in his graciousness and kindness led us right in line with this format of these truths from God's word and So when we were exposed to them again just here recently, we just kind of looked at each other Oh my gosh, so we probably ought to teach that we both knew that so we're think we know and believe that we're being laid by the Spirit to teach This because it's extremely necessary and God wants to get these truths over to you because he desperately wants to answer our prayers and do things for us So we're going to so these are from not only just the teachings from God's word that we've received But it's also something that we have experienced in our life So they said something we think works or we hope it will work for you Well, I'm telling you this what we're going to teach you is so Critically important that if you don't get these truths you will struggle in life And you might accidentally ever now and get a prayer answered But you won't it won't be a for sure thing It won't be something that you can go in prayer with confidence and believe that you receive it and just get it from the Lord Unless you know these truths that we'll share with you. So you want to go through those things? Sure.
And like you said It's like anything else in Christianity until you've experienced it for yourself You've worked it and experienced it for yourself. It's it's not a reality to you that once you've been there and you've experienced you want it Yes, you want it's yours, it's yours, it's yours, and you know, and you can do what you're supposed to do and share it with others because it's so real to you So now these things are Like Tony said, there's seven little steps here But at the same time these are these can be expounded on these can be things to where you know You'll see in God's word as you write these things down and take these things to God's word You'll see how you're able to implement them on a day-to-day basis But the first one here is decide or know what you need and that's a reality only because Sometimes if we're not direct and we're not precise in knowing exactly what we're calling for then we have all this open space out here for Other stuff to fill in, you know, so you need to decide what it is you need and then without the power of God's word It nothing's gonna happen So you have to get scriptures and promises as what a lot of people call them and and things that the Lord has made available to us through His blood and through his crucifixion Those are the things that are ours legally by rot and until we find something in God's word that we can put on the promise And the need that we have that's the only way we're gonna be able to receive it So that's the first thing you need to do is to get God's word on exactly what it is that you need whether it's healing whether it's Finance is salvation. It works the same way the baptism in the Holy Spirit You find scriptures to where God has said that this belongs to you and then you make them your own and you do that by Meditation and study on his word. That's the next one Which is ask pray and believe that you receive so when you find something in God's word that Let's just pick something here to use.
Let's just use healing the healing healing is probably the most common that people deal with and so you find scriptures Isaiah 53 4 and 5 some scriptures that you can meditate on and then when you see that that belongs to you You're ready to pray you're ready to ask the Lord And when you do that you have to do it in faith knowing that what you see is God's word It belongs to you and you ask and then you believe that you receive it. Yes. Yes number three is then now this this is where the I don't want to use the word battle But this this is where the majority of people lose it and they are not able to to go to the end and actually see the result But you need to let every thought and every desire of firm what you've asked for so Never permit the picture of failure to be in your mind and if thoughts persist to rebuke them verbally I mean, you know and I'm not talking about making a scene somewhere But you know nobody else knows what's coming into your mind But those thoughts and those things that come in that try to paint a picture opposite of what it is healing You know you have these symptoms you have this you have this you have to verbally put something up That's going to push that picture and push those thoughts out of your mind And then when you can get and keep your mind on the answer on God's word his scriptures. That's where the power is at It's in God's word.
That's the only place you can't do it within yourself. It's not mind over matter It's not just them deciding to think about thoughts and just you know receive from God That's that's not how it works You have to verbally put God's word in your mouth and when you are speaking God's word you are pushing those thoughts back and now this time frame can be It can be a while. This is and it's the time that God's word becomes a reality inside you and once you're it becomes real in your spirit And your mind is assured of what God's word says and the things that you're doing the reality of it is going to come through in Your body since we're talking about healing and work where there's a law of success That works with everything and it's the level of effort you put forth and the consistency and Now you determine what that level is say there's a one to ten, you know and and and so if you're level of consistency is three and You're Aggressiveness or you're you know, you're pushing forward is a four then it's gonna take you longer than this if you decide, okay I'm serious about this. We're gonna have we're gonna have some some nines and tens You know, we're gonna that's how much consistency we're gonna have, you know, and that's how how the level of you know Our effort that we're gonna put forth then it's gonna come quicker.
It's just gonna come quicker So that's just that's just a lot of that's why everything works, you know, you know, if you just play with it You may never get it if you just kind of in and out of it in and out of it You'll never get it. Let's go this go through these and then we'll go back and we'll go back up here to this You go through them So just kind of quickly number four is to guard against every evil that comes into the mind against your affirmation And that can be people places some teachings anything that brings doubt to you, okay? Number five is to meditate constantly on the promises which you base the answer to your prayer You have to see yourself with what you ask God for and now some of these may seem like they're the same thing But like you said when we get in and we start pushing, you know a little bit more definition in here You'll get a better grasp of it number six is to think on the greatness and the goodness of God to lift your hearts to God constantly and Thanksgiving So you're on the side where you're giving praise with your mouth for what he has already done and what he's doing now, okay? And then number seven is to make every prayer a statement of faith instead of unbelief and again This is one of those that you know, we'll definitely have to get in and do a lot more definition in but to ask again would be unbelief So you can see what we're saying about prayer.
It's not just a prayer of Asking and then asking and then asking okay And bugging God till he decides to do it right right so do not pray the same way you did the first time when you when we say continual prayer It's a reminding of the years to yourself and of the Lord for what his word says or the promise remember the scripture that you Are you're basing what you're believing on and then to thank him that it's already done. Amen Amen And so now we will go back to the first one and these first steps are really foundational steps And if you don't get these down and you try to skip over these it's not going to work because you won't have that foundation That's why the first thing you have to do is decide what you want and you must be precise You must be focused you must have it clear you must sometimes, you know really spend some time thinking about it is Especially you know now healing is it's not real hard, you know, it's like okay I just need I just need to be free from this pain and I need to sickness and disease to leave my body That's pretty easy, but when it comes to something like you're believing God to say for a house You need God and you say God to provide a house. Oh, yeah, you'll take care of you You know he'll take care of those things. I mean he did for us But then you're gonna have to think about what you want before you ask him You know you need to you need to think about it before you and what happens so many times is when it comes to prayer We don't think about anything else It's just prayers to answer to everything so we just start we go off and pray and because we go off and pray We don't even have any kind of a foundation and it's virtually impossible for us to even believe that we receive, you know and and I want to read you a scripture here from John 8 and John chapter 8 and verse 31 very familiar scripture Jesus had some Jews and some Pharisees and Sadducees different ones, you know that were following him and they begin to believe and he looked at them and And I think he was trying to make sure they really believed you know because a lot of people they on the surface They look like they believe but he looked at him and because he made a statement He says and as he spake these words many believed on him that's verse 30 and they and said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him He said if you continue in my word He said if you continue in my word then are you my disciples indeed and he said and he put that if on there You know and he put the importance of continuing in his word God's word is so critically important Because he goes on and says he says he says and you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free And I think it's interesting there that he said that Truth is in his word.
So that's where we discover truth is in God's word God's word is truth and you might find it other places But the source of our truth is the Bible and that's why the and if you don't and if the Bible is not important in your life Then you're gonna have problems, you know I mean you're gonna be sure and that's why I think there's so much deception going on in the world today is because the Bible has Has lost its value and its rightful place in the life even of Christians and believers. It's the Bible's it's optional anymore You know or you know you have to make excuses why it doesn't believe you know why it doesn't mean what it says and what does it mean? Do you know here? Jesus said if you will continue in my word he said you'll know the truth no words from my word You will describe the truth and listen.
It's the truth that's going to make you free now notice He did not say it was going to be praise and worship that would make you free now praise and worship is important Nothing can take its place, but he didn't say that that would be what was said to you free He said no in my word and understanding having the truth will make you free he didn't even say prayer would make you free He said my word if you continue that word continue means it means just over and over and over and over again That's why the first step is number one decide what you want and number two find scriptures that promises you what you are believing God For that it really belongs to you and so and so knowing the truth is critically important And you can you know have your prayers answered. Do you have any scriptures on prayer right off? You want me to find one? I was just gonna make a little statement about what you said, you know Even if you're not looking for healing right now What you said about staying in the word you still need to be a reader and a follower of God's word because if you wait until Physically your body is tired and you're at a state to wear Physically it's hard for you to do something It's gonna be really hard for you at that point to get this kind of depth into the word of God and be able to receive at this level So start now I mean just start a foundation of knowing what God's will or his promises or what his word says about you as a believer Because then you'll have that already that faith foundation already in there and then when something happens You'll be able to draw from that and be able to stand because Waiting until it's a it's a dire need sometimes.
Yeah, you can't do that I mean you won't be able to do that it won't happen Jesus said that He said man should I live by bread alone? He said my every word that preceded out of the mouth of God God's word see we see that all the time people They don't take the time to discipline themselves enough to where that God's word becomes important I would do what if it was me I would go through and I would find you know Say we're healing is concerned and I just go through the entire Bible and I just get me a concordance and I'd write down every scripture I could find on healing so I did that before and I did the same thing You know a lot of people say well, you know bottle have lots of money I found out when I went through about finances that the Bible said more about finances virtually than it did anything else I mean I found a whole lot more verses on finances than I did on healing So you just go through and you write those down and you just go through and write down You know if you've never been filled with experience spoke with other times I'd go through and find those scriptures and I'd write them down and then I just spent time reading them and you have to come to The place where that you believe that God's word is God speaking to you You've got to believe that that that's God speaking to you the number one way that God speaks to us is through his word You know, I mean the Holy Spirit will guide you some outside the word But he'll always he'll never guide you apart from the word He'll always lead you back to God's word So that's why God's if you want to get the Holy Spirit involved in your life Then put God's word first and that will give me like an open door of invitation for him to come in You know if you approach it with the right way, you know But I'm gonna read a couple verses here in John chapter 16 and this is Jesus speaking He said and at that day and he's talking about after his resurrection his ascension back to the Father that's the day he's referring to he said This is a 1626. He said at that day you shall ask me. He shall ask nothing I'm sorry.
Let me read it again He said at that day you shall ask in my name and I say not into you that I will pray the Father for you now verse 27 for the Father himself Love with you because you because you love me and I and I and I have believed that I have come from him here Jesus is telling us that in that day he said you don't have to ask me in prayer He said you can ask the Father and there's one place where he said in my name and the Father will do it for you It's an open door prayer and he's telling you that whatever you ask the Father in his name And that's of course in line with his word that he will do it and then you look at John chapter 15 And here Jesus made an interesting statement here in verse 7 He said if you abide in me I stay in fellowship with me in other words and my words abide in you You shall ask what you will and it shall be done into you and here We see from this very verse right here Jesus gave us a promise that we could have our prayers answered But in this one here he gave us stipulations He gave us if you might say if you will abide in me stay in fellowship with me if my words abide in you in other words My word stays lives in you. He said you can ask what have you will and he said it will be done for you That's an amazing answer. I mean amazing promise to answer prayer right there If we could just get that stay filled ship with him and allow God's word to have the first and only place in your life He said you'll get your prayers answered every time. There's another one I believe it's in the book of 1 John chapter 5 and it says I could quote it but I'm gonna I'll flip over there and read it to you first John chapter 5 One of my favorites and this is just another straight out.
You can't you have trouble, you know even Misunderstanding this one this is first John 514. This is and this is the confidence that we have in him that if we ask now Listen anything according to his will or his word he hears us and if we know that he hears us No words. I've asked according to his word Then I know he hears me because he said he would he said and if he and if he hears us He said and if we know that he hears us verse 15 whatsoever We ask we know that we have the petition that we desire of him Sit let me read that again And this is the conference verse 14 that we have in him then if we ask anything according to his will he hears us And if we know that he hears us whatsoever So, however we ask, we know that we have the petition that we desire to be him. See, that's an absolute outright promise right there.
This is if you'll ask anything according to God's will, he will hear you and you will have the petition you desire. You said, but I've done that and I wasn't able to receive. Well, see, that's why we're going to be talking about these seven steps or these seven principles that will assure you that God will answer your prayer every time because there's so much more. See, that's just a statement that says, you know, you have to dig into that.
What does he mean when he says that? Because, you know, the fact that all you have to say is, okay, well, I just thank you that I believe I received a new cat like, did you show something to drive away the next day? Well, that's not going to happen. I mean, the chances of that happen are very slim, you know, and that's why there's so much more to believing.
There's so much more to getting God's Word in you. And to know his will, and remember his will is his Word. It's his last will in Testament and his Word for us. So we can always know what his will is.

You know, when it comes to receiving, being able to receive the answer to your prayer, that all begins with the first prayer that you have to pray and it's extremely essential, you know, when that is that prayer to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. And so listen, I want to if you're out there today and we believe that there are those that are hearing that really, really needs to pray this prayer because we're not talking about, you know, just having a bad day next week. We're talking about eternity, you know, when eternity is exactly what it says it is forever.
So if you're out there today and you're unsure in any way, former fashion that if you watched a day that you would go to heaven, we want to pray with you. And if you're out there today and I know that there's probably many, you know, that say, I prayed that prayer many years ago and I know that I was born again, but I'm really not walking with him where I should be, then we want to include you in this prayer because you need to stay in fellowship with him because Jesus is going to come back as a thief in the night and we really don't know when he's going to come and we want you to go with us. You know, heaven won't be the same without you. You need to be there.
So let's just, if you will, we're going to pray for you and then we're going to pray that it wants you to pray with us, okay? Father, I do pray for every individual under the sound of our voice that Lord you search the hearts and Lord that you bring the conviction of the Holy Spirit into their lives and make them fully aware of their spiritual condition. And if there's any out there which I believe there's many, Lord that their condition is not right, that you would show that to them right now and do in their lives what only you can do. Father, all they can do is respond.
Father God to the prompting of your spirit. And as they do that with their whole heart, I believe that they will be eternally changed, Father God, and transformed, Father by your spirit. Now, pray this prayer with us. Say Jesus.
I take you today. As my Lord. And my Savior. And my Savior.
Sin. Sin. Satan. You are not my Lord.
I do not serve you. I do not serve you. Jesus. I give my life to you today.
I give my life to you today. And forever. And forever. Thank you for coming into my heart.
Thank you for coming into my heart. And making me brand new. And making me brand new. Now Father, I thank you for the Holy Spirit and for His presence in my life, in His fullness, in Jesus' name.
Amen. Now, if you pray that prayer today and you believe that you received, then you're different. And you need to tell somebody though. It's not just, you know, you pray that prayer and go in about your way.
It's you ask A, B, you believe you receive and C, you confess. You need to tell someone. Let us know through email, through letter however you want to do that. You know, but you call somebody, tell somebody what you believe that God has done for you today.
The more you do that, the more it will become a reality to you in your life. God bless you. You will get to see with you.
