Hello, welcome to the Rise and Shine. We are continuing on with the topic that we were sharing last time about seven steps to getting your prayers answered. And we're just going to pick up right where we were and I'm going to go over these first couple here with you and then we're just going to jump right in. The first one here was decide or know what you need.
So you want to get scriptures that promise and that you can meditate on for the subject that you're needing and we were using the reference of healing and so we'll probably continue on with that. And then we're going to ask and pray and believe that you receive. And if you remember last time we went through some of the scriptures and John about the promises of God's word and how to receive those. And next we're going to get into how that your thoughts and your desires or your thoughts need to affirm the desires and the prayer that you pray and that you permit or never permit the picture of failure in your mind.
And if those thoughts resist or persist how to resist them with the word of God and sometimes that's even verbally. You have to shake your mind into back in line with the word of God. And so getting your answers or your promises and the scriptures remember that we gathered on the promise that we want. So being able to keep those the answer in your mind you have to eradicate every other thought and picture that is opposite of what you're receiving from the Lord.
Amen. And we're going to look at some scriptures that will help you to see this and because we don't want you to just think that we just made up. You know if you can't find what we're teaching you from God's word then you don't need to be listening to us because we want our teaching to be based on what the word of God says. And they started off with and with you know find the scripture you need to find two or three verses that promises you what it is that you need to receive from the Lord and you need to know where they're at.
So many people that I prayed with you know and I'd ask them you know what scripture are you standing on and I am amazed at people that cannot tell you one scripture they can't tell you where it's at. They might know part of it. In other words they've heard somebody say it and say it but they've really never taken the time to find it in their own Bible and to look at it long enough that they could actually even quote it to you. See that's how you don't really memorize scripture just to be memorizing but the more you meditate it it will become a part of you on the inside of you and it becomes really hard to forget and you can I mean it just comes out of you because you've got it that deep down inside of you.
And so you do need to find those scriptures and you need to find them and you need to get them fixed in your heart before you ever pray. Prayer isn't the first thing. Finding God's Word. Finding God's Word and assuring yourself that this belongs to you in your mind and you need to look at it long enough to you and you realize that hey this is God and this is his Word and this is his will for me because if you don't then when you approach prayer see it's going to be so easy for the devil to talk you out of it.
You know and so we don't hear a lot about the devil anymore it's just like you know everything's well why won't God because he is God and you know why is he allowing this and why you know and why is this happening and why that happened. Well there's a devil on the planet and he hates you. There would be an easy thing if it wasn't for him. He fights prayer.
He does not want you to pray especially scripturally. He doesn't want you to know what God's Word says. He wants to keep you out of the Bible. And then when you put an attempt to get in the Bible he will try his very best to discourage you and he'll try to tell you why it doesn't belong to you.
You'll have to fight your way into these things. It's not just going to come to you. You know just automatically following you. You really have to fight for it.
Well and you were talking about the thoughts and the things that come in because your actions are going to follow your mind. They're going to follow your thoughts. And so if you think on failure long enough your actions and your physical and your whole being is going to follow instinctively. Those the failure or the lack of faith or the lack of hope and you'll lose hope for what you're believing God for.
That's how come you know we encourage you about thoughts and things that come into your mind. You need to put something up against that. Well you think well how do I do that? Well if a thought comes to you of you're not healed or you're going to die or you know something like that then you need to make a point to stop right then and think about what does God say about this.
What is this and then if you're like we mentioned Isaiah 53, 4 and 5 before we were talking about healing you need to just stop and verbally say God's word speak those scriptures and that is how we're saying that you need to come against that picture and those thoughts of failure. And it can be that's where you said like that's where it can be tiring that's a battle because I mean you may have those thoughts especially in the beginning I mean just you know repeatedly in your mind and until you're able to do something against those you're going to it's going to be a battle. That's why you said what you want. That's why you find scripture on it and then you ask and believe that you receive but sometimes you know Mark 11 23 and 24 those are so familiar your scriptures you know he said for who's whoever shall say into the mountain be there removed and they'll catch them to see and shout out down this heart but shall have believe that whatsoever he sayeth shall come to pass.
He shall have whatsoever he sayeth and then the next one is he says and therefore what sort of things you desire when you pray believe that you receive them and you shall have them. See what a lot of people want to do is they want to bypass twenty verse twenty three and go straight to verse twenty four and he said and that word therefore is there for a reason. You know in other words therefore means in conjunction with what I just told you in other words you need to you need to get a full grasp of what verse twenty three says before you ever decide to act on what verse twenty four says. See people want to jump out there and they want to pray and they believe they receive but then they are so easily talked out of it because God's word is not embedded deep enough into their consciousness and into their thought life and heart so that they can be talked out of it and you can still be talked out of it and just because you hear the truth about God's word and his willingness to heal you does not mean that all of a sudden all of the doubt that you had before about you know or all the faith I should say that you had before in sicknesses ability to dominate and control and destroy your life because you know you have faith in sickness just like you can in God's word but just because you hear the truth of God's word doesn't mean all of a sudden that all that other junk about sickness and disease just disappears.
You have to get God's word in you to the depth of the place where that it can literally drive out the fear and the doubt you know and then see then you're ready to pray. So you need to get ready to pray you need to prepare you need to meditate God's word to the point where that you know you've got the confidence that I can pray and I can literally believe that I received this when I prayed and then once you pray that prayer now listen once you pray that prayer you got to believe you received it and if you received it then we'll go into that little further in some of these other steps but you've got to come to that place where you actually received it and you've got to receive it you know you can't just keep praying that same prayer over and over and over you know when you're going to receive it just like salvation you know when you're going to believe you're born again you've got to believe it eventually just say I didn't want it says what the word says and so therefore I believe I have what the word says I would have and that's salvation the new birth. And people use that principle with salvation a lot and don't even realize it. Nobody could talk them out of their salvation.
Wow. Because they are so assured that it's God's will for them to be born and they've heard it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and it's been preached and preached and preached and preached and preached to the point where they've heard it so much they're totally convinced. Okay when I act on this I'll be born again and they have no problem and it's the same principle. Yeah and no and no inhibitions about that there's a heaven that they're going to go to when they die.
Absolutely. They know that. See how do you get that way because of God's word and these principles have been taught so much and we're thankful for that but once you go past that you know and you believe that you receive when you pray this is where most people miss it right here is where most people miss it and let me read you this out of the book of see 2 Corinthians chapter 10. Paul writing in this in this verse he said verse 3 of chapter 10.
Second Corinthians 10 and 3. It says, although we walk in the flesh we do not war after the flesh. In other words Paul's talking about there's a battle. There's a battle.
You got a battle. What is this battle Paul? This battle is this opposition that comes against you that will do everything that it possibly can to keep you from believing what God's word says. It will it's called doubt and it's called fear.
That's the two biggest ones. Doubt will come and tell you that it's not working. God doesn't hear you. He's not on your side.
It's not God's will. You know that's passed away and the list goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and then there's that spirit of fear that comes on you that you know the doctor's report you're going to die you know and and and you can have a fear of some crazy virus that's out there that they say is going to kill everybody. What's the whole purpose of that? See that I promise you that the core of that thing where it is from is out of the pits of hell.
All sickness and disease comes from hell and anybody that would promote that is operating in conjunction with or in agreement with Satan himself and trying to bring fear on people and tell them that they're going to die of this thing and everybody's going through all this fear. Well I'm going to tell you something. God's word will discharge the fear but you got to get it in you far deep enough to whether you're not afraid of it anymore. You have to get it in you.
And it goes on and says he said now notice he said the weapons of our warfare they are not carnal but they are mighty through God. Now listen to this for the pulling down of strong holds. What is it? I mean you know what is it that how is it that we can pull down these strong holds?
He said casting down now listen imagination and every high thing that exalted itself against the knowledge of or the word of God and bringing into captivity I notice this every thought to the obedience of Christ and Christ is that anointed that anointing that's only an only one that's everything that belongs to you. In other words every any thought that comes into your mind that would contradict what God's word says about you that would try to tell you that it's not working that you're getting worse. The doctors have told you there's no hope it doesn't matter. They can be endless and endless.
What do you have to do? You have to say no no no and you'll have to do it verbally at times and say and you probably should do it verbally all the time at least if it's just under your breath say no no I don't I don't receive that. That is not my thought. I refuse to receive that.
I believe what God's word says and God's word says by His stripes we were here. He healed. First Peter 2, 24 the very last part of that verse. If we were healed then I am healed.
Thank you Lord that I am healed. Thank you Lord that your word is true and I believe that your healing power is flowing through my body right now and you might have to do that thousands of times a day because the thoughts will persist they will try to come because listen that's the strong hold. You're fighting a strong hold. You're having to pull down a strong hold and that strong hold is what has dominated humanity for decades and for years for centuries for millenniums you know that's how he controls people because if you flip back over in 2 Corinthians chapter 4 Paul gives us another insight into this same arena this same area this mental arena that we live in that's where we live he said for 2 Corinthians 4 and 3 he said but if our gospel be hid it's hid to them that are lost.
Now listen in whom the God of this world he's talking about Satan at the blind of the minds of them that believe not least the glorious light of the gospel should shine into them should shine into them. So see we see that the devil is the one that blinds people's minds he tries to tell them he tries to dominate them he controls them with thoughts and if you don't know what God's word says and you don't replace those negative horrible thoughts that come to you with God's word he'll continue to control you and I mean we could go to the book of James. You have something? Yeah I want to mention down here because we're talking about I know a lot of people speaking God's word verbally is a little bit foreign to them it's not something that you know maybe they haven't been around teaching a lot you know that does all that but right down here were you were reading in 2 Corinthians 4 if you go down verse 13 it says we having the same spirit of faith according as it is written I believed and therefore have I spoken we also believe and therefore we speak and if you remember when you got born again whoever prayed with you or even if you prayed yourself you were talking speaking to the Lord so you had a confession of some sort to confess Jesus as your Savior and this is the same concept you're confessing Jesus as your healer you're confessing him as your provider so I just want to throw that in there for some people that's foreign to them but evidently you can't believe without confessing unless it comes out I see a lot of people want to believe these things mentally but they're unwilling to confess it with their mouth and the Bible says that the devil's believe and fear and tremble but they're not going to confess see that makes that's the difference you put God's word in your mouth well that's exactly what Mark 11 23 was talking about it's talking about what you say with your mouth now see what you say you can't say one thing and think another see thought your words will stop your thought life and it will redirect your thought life in the directions of the words that you're speaking that's why what you say coming out your mouth is so important that's what we did when cancer tried to come into our house and into our family we made a decision that this is this is serious and we're going to be serious with him we decided that we would not allow any thought that would contradict the word of God that says by his stripes we were healed to come into our thought life and if we had to fight it one time in a day we had to fight it hundreds of times and say no no you don't in Jesus name and we would quote Isaiah 53 4 and 5 over and over and over again what were we doing pulling down the strongholds casting down the imagination trying to block us and keep us from receiving from God guys this is where the battle is fought this is where the battle is either lost or won right here and it doesn't make sense to you sometimes you know i'm sure we look pretty silly sometimes i remember you know just doing housework carrying laundry around or this or that and then those thoughts come to you you know all you're going to be doing this and you're going to do that and it's like no no yes you'll say yourself burying somebody or you'll say yourself buried being buried yourself you'll say i mean all these thoughts will come against you see that's that fear and that doubt how do you deal with this the only way there's no other way you have to put God's word in your mouth and what God's word says and God's word is power it will drive and push the fear in the doubt out and you have to tell fear doubt no no no no no no no no no you can't have me you can't have my family you can't have us no you will leave and you will have to leave well how did we get to that place because we put God's word in us to the point where that i mean and the longer we did that the stronger we got and the more determined we got it wasn't like you why i can't do that because i know no you have to remember you're not in this alone you have the Holy Spirit he comes alongside you and when you page you put God's word first in your life i promise you the Holy Spirit will rush in like a mighty wind and he'll pick you up and he'll help you to go through that thing he will energize you and strengthen you and and i will say to you because we've done this the opposite way we have not stood on God's word before and kept it in our mouth we prayed and we believed that we received and we dropped the ball there and you do it by again not addressing those thoughts and if you don't if you watch or if you think back in your own life and you've been through a situation like this and you've not directed something towards those thoughts you'll get into place to where you start losing hope and once you start losing hope the Holy Spirit will just kind of back away because you're not you're not using him you're not enforcing anything and from there you'll go to um depression you'll start having things that'll start affecting your mind you'll get in that place to where it'll actually even affect your body and you'll start um you know being um stressed in your body or weak in your body and it all comes from giving place to fear and doubt instead of the word of God you know when you look at James chapter one James gives us exactly what we're talking about here he describes it in detail and in James chapter one i'll start with verse two he says my brethren counted all joy when you fall into divers temptations to amplify says trials or tests what when is what how do we fall into divers temptations or trials and tests when you decide to stand on God's word when the attack comes and you decide to fight back with God's word that's when that's when you're in a test this is a trial okay he said now notice this knowing this that the trying of your faith work of patience patience here is not talking about putting up with or just trying to live this thing out because if that was the case you'll die waiting see and we've been there and we've seen that they say working so we're gonna have to take this to another level this you can't this is not a place for us to have what why I would consider passive faith you're gonna have to have aggressive faith and that's exactly what James is talking about right here because patience is something that rises up inside you patience is what says it will not take no for an answer it refuses this take no for an answer because he goes right on and says he says but let patience see let patience that endurance that refusing to take no for an answer that that determination that you're going to cast down every imagination every thought everything that comes into your mind and God's word is going to be the absolute final authority in this situation and you refuse to let the devil dominate your mind with all that he said he said let patience have a perfect work now listen that you may be perfect in entire wanting nothing so he's talking about see that's exactly where we were at and that's exactly where that place we got to that place we were no longer wanting for the answer we were no longer wanting for the manifestation of the healing power of God to come into our family and do what he could do because he goes on and says now listen to this she says if any man lack wisdom let him ask of God who give it to all men liberally and that braid if not and it shall be given unto him but now listen to this next verse but let him then ask ask in faith now listen nothing wavering for he that waver is like the waver the sea driven of the wind and tossed but now listen to this verse next verse you ready for let not this that man think that he shall receive anything from the Lord a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways now see that's right there the double-minded man and wavering see you waver you say okay I believe that I received when I prayed but then doubt starts to come and before you know it you're no longer meditating on God's words you're no longer captivating your thoughts with God's word but you let your mind wander over here and you begin to go through all the scenarios and it begins to play this recording over and over and over how it's not working how God didn't hear your prayer how it's going exactly like the doctor said and there is no hope and look at the circumstances look at the situation look at what you see and before you know it see your wavering and God's words said if you waver he said if you waver don't think you'll ever receive anything from him because he wavering is not faith and if you're wavering what that means is you didn't spend enough time on number one allowing God's word to get in you deep enough so you could come to that place whether you would refuse to waver see God's the power of God is in his word to sustain you it's in his word see and you get that word in you you you you just like when you eat natural food you know that your body has the ability to abstract from that food strength and nourishment for your body and God's words the same way spiritually when you meditate it over and over you break it down spiritually and you get it down inside of you you have that ability to draw out of that word that supernatural strength of God and it's called faith I mean it's called courage it's called confidence whatever you want to call it and it will sustain you in that situation where that you won't waver and you won't doubt wavering does not mean the end though if you have caught yourself in a place to where you're not where you're wavering and you're not believing as long as you are still drawing breath you can always go back to number one because you don't just do this perfect the first time oh no because it's like everything else you know you'll find yourself that you know like I remember you know it's not praying other tongues you know some of you may not understand this but it works like this you'll start praying another tongues and then all of a sudden you'll go like oh I'm not praying another tongues anymore when I quit you don't know when you quit so what do you do you start praying again because you got distracted your mind your thoughts got distracted and you just pull yourself back and it's the same way with this and you just keep yourself focused on what God that has to be your focus on what God has promised you got to keep yourself focused on it and just because you have those thoughts oh they'll come they will trust me they will come won't they right right but it's what you do with them yes it's how you handle them it's not just because they came does not mean that you're out of faith or that you're wavering it's what you do with them and how you react to them that's going to determine where you're going to go with them that's right and I mean it pleases God when he sees somebody you know it just so pleases him when we will accept what his word says above what's going on around us you know because I mean he's just the way he is he is a god of faith and he and without faith it's impossible to please and as long as you're You know when it comes to receiving being able to receive the answer to your prayer that all begins with the first prayer that you have to pray and it's extremely essential you know when that is that prayer to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and so listen I want to if you're out there today and we believe that there are those that are hearing that that really really needs to pray this prayer because we're not talking about you know just having a bad day next week we're talking about eternity you know when eternity is exactly what it says it is forever so if you're out there today and you're unsure in any way former fashion that if you wish to die today that you would go to heaven we want to pray with you and if you're out there today and I know that there's probably many you know that say I prayed that prayer many years ago and I know that I was born again but I'm really not walking with him where I should be then we want to include you in this prayer because you need to stay in fellowship with him because Jesus is going to come back as a thief in the night and we really don't know when he's going to come and and we want you to go with us you know heaven won't be the same without you you you need to be there so let's just if you will we're going to pray for you and then we're going to pray want you to pray with us okay father I do pray for every individual under the sound of our voice that that or you search the hearts and Lord that you bring the conviction of the Holy Spirit into their lives and make them fully aware of their spiritual condition and if there's any out there which I believe there's many Lord that their condition is not right that you would show that to them right now and do in their lives what only you can do father all they can do is respond father God to the prompting of your spirit and as they do that with their whole heart I believe that they will be eternally changed Father God and transformed Father by your spirit now pray this pray with us say Jesus Jesus I take you today I take you today as my Lord as my Lord and my Savior and my Savior sin sin Satan Satan you are not my Lord I do not serve you I do not serve you Jesus I give my life to you today I give my life to you today and forever and forever thank you for coming into my heart thank you for coming into my heart and making me brand new and making me brand new now Father I thank you Jesus for the Holy Spirit and for his presence in my life in his fullness in Jesus name amen now if you pray that prayer today and you believe that you received then you're different and you need to you need to tell somebody though it's not just you know you pray that prayer and going about your way it's you ask a b you believe you receive and see you confess you need to tell someone let us know through emails they'll later however you want to do that you know but you call somebody tell somebody what you believe that God has done for you today the more you do that the more it will become a reality to you in your life God bless you
