Welcome back. We are following up with our, are you going to be a power or a pitiful act in the church and in the body right now? And we're going to follow up with some scriptures and acts and we hope that you're able to listen in and join us. Please connect with the Rise and Shine by visiting our Facebook page at facebook.com slash a Rise and Shine TV show or emailing us at a Rise and Shine TV at gmail.com.
We look forward to connecting with you. Again, we're talking about the importance of the person of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer to simply be able to accomplish what God has called us to do. See, we believe emphatically that this is God cannot do what he wants to do. And I know you get into another whole story out there where people are like, well, he's got to do anything he wants to.
Well, all you got to do is look around and he's obviously not doing what he wants to. He wants all of me to be saved. They're not going to get saved. Okay.
So man's will has a huge part to play. Okay. And so see, he has the power. He has the authority.
He has the, rather he has the power, but we are in a position where we have the authority to use his name because we're on this planet. You know, Jesus didn't pay the price and deliver us from sin. And from all of that from heaven, he had to come to earth and just like us as a baby and go through all that he went through so that he can legally be here and do the things that he did. And so it's up to us.
If God's going to get the work done that he wants to get done in these last days, it's going to take you and I, the church, born again believers, working with him to get this job done. And so that's what this is all about is to help to equip you and to encourage you and to give you revelation and understanding that you are so much more than you know you are. You have such a power on the inside of you. If you had any idea that you got the Holy Ghost and John said, you know, John said greater, he said, and he said this in reference to the last days and the spirit of Antichrist, which we're beginning to see, parts of that now around us, that same spirit.
He said, he said, but you said, but you have overcome them. Talk about that spirit of Antichrist. Why have you overcome them? Because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.
He's talking about the person of the Holy Spirit living inside of us. No matter what comes in life, he causes us to overcome every time. Amen. So we're going to go to the book of Acts chapter 9, and this is about Peter.
Peter went down to a place called Juppa and while he was there, there was a lady that died. And so they came to get him, you know, because they were concerned about this. And so they had to have some kind. I mean, that was faith for them to go after him because she's dead.
They could have said, it's too late. He's going barrier, you know, but evidently, you know, they said, no, we're going to go get Peter. So they went and got him. So Peter comes, make a long story short, he comes and then he sends everybody out and he goes in, you know, and he prays and he does what he does and he believes God raises this woman from the dead.
Okay. And then he presents her to them. Okay. And so the whole point is this.
Now, now you have to understand, now think about it. There's no way Peter could do that on if it was. We just go to the hospital or to the morgue rather and we just start raising people from the dead. See, it takes something supernatural.
It takes a power. It takes an energy. It takes something greater than us that can do that. See, and so in this, the person of the Holy Spirit, because what I want to bring out here really is found.
Let's read what I'm going to read in 41 and 42. It says, and he gave, and he gave her his hand and lifted her up and when he had called the saints and the widows presented her alive. So now he's got his razor from the dead, but he used Peter to do it. Peter hadn't been there.
He couldn't have did it. Peter was willing to cooperate with that anointing with the power of God. And because he was willing to do that, God was able to do a great thing. Now listen, here was the purpose.
And not only, don't misunderstand me, it was the purpose to bring her back alive because her life wasn't over and God wanted her to feel her purpose for being here. Now that's important, but there was another purpose to it as well. That's just as equally important. Okay.
It says, and it was known throughout all Judea. I'm sorry, Judea. Japa. I threw all Japa.
Okay. And because of that, see the new spread everywhere and what happened? And many believed in the Lord. Now see, you see that?
The power of God in manifestation, in the life of a believer, and you see people being turned to the Lord and believing. God, you can't get away from that. As I was reading through the book of Acts, you used primarily to amplify it in my daily reading. I'm just reading because it's just where I'm at.
And all of a sudden the spirit of God began to pull these verses out to me and I began to go, my God. And I began to see a pattern. It's just like, okay, okay, no, okay, here's another one. Okay, here's another one.
So I just began to realize that I'm in the Lord is talking to me about this because this is very important for where we are in life today. If you want to overcome all this stuff that's going on around you, you just simply need to power the Holy Spirit. You know, you need to power the Holy Spirit. We could go back to Acts chapter 9 and verse 10.
And we'll just refer to that one. That is when Paul was known, Saul then was filled with the Spirit. Well, I tell you what, we're right there. I'll just go back over and read just a little bit of it.
Just so that we, you know, I hope that you got a Bible and I hope that you're able, you know, to follow along with us because you really need to see these in the Bible for yourself. Okay. And we're not going to go through this whole thing, you know, because, but you know, but there is, it is important here that you see that verse 10 of the 9th chapter of the book of Acts, it says, and there was a certain disciple at the Mac, the Massus. See, in other words, he wasn't the apostle or prophet or of answers to pastor or teacher.
He was a disciple, in other words, he was a follower of Jesus Christ. He was a layman, we may say, he was just a church member, okay? He didn't stand in leadership position of any time. He's just simply a disciple.
So I think I put this in here for the purpose of that he will use the sample. Just layman, he'll use you if you're a lady. Okay. I mean, think about what this man and an Oscar to do such a pretty, he had no idea.
He just hears about this man. In fact, he argued with the Lord. I don't want to go down there. You know, he's killing people and he's coming up here with letters.
He's in legal right to put people in jail to do what he's doing, you know, to murder kill people. He said, I really don't want to go. He said, oh, you go because I've already talked to him. I've told him what he's going to have to say.
I've told him all this stuff and he's done that praying right now. And he's already seen somebody coming in and laying their hands on him, you know, and so. So he finally sat, now listen, he finally was willing to cooperate. So he goes down there and he lays hands on him.
And these things that was on his eyes, it was the glory of God that blinded him. These things, these things fell off his eyes, like almost like a cataract or something, fell off his eyes and he could see and he was filled with the spirit. Then say he spoke with other tongues there, but first Corinthians 14 bears it out that he did because he said he spoke with tongues. You know, that's when he had to get it.
Okay. Because he was filled with the spirit, acts two, four and he spoke with tongues. Okay. But my point is the fact that he was a disciple and that God used him to lay hands on Saul who later became Paul and wrote over half the New Testament.
So when the house was going later, he said, Hey, I did pretty good. So I obey God and look what God was able to do. What if I had no way in him? I'm sure he probably would have had somebody else.
I don't know, but it may have may not have turned out like it did. You see how critical this is? An anise said, yes, I'll do what you call me to do. You know, and there it is.
An anise what we don't understand is the New Testament was written by men that were filled with the spirit and spoke with other tongues. You can, you can prove that scripturally and you can prove that historically. And it was written to men and women that were, were filled with the spirit and spoke with other tongues and an anise was filled with the spirit and he spoke with other tongues. If he hadn't, if he wouldn't know what to do to lay hands on him for him to be filled with the spirit, he wouldn't even understood that he'd had to have Jesus explain it to him.
But he just simply obeyed. And when he did, God worked a great miracle and raised up a man that took the gospel to every known civilization at that time. And literally, listen, literally led to the downfall of Rome and the very city that was killing Christians was the one that brought together the Canada scripture that you have called the Bible. That's not amazing.
And he did it through anise. Oh, and anise had to do, just go and simply do what Jesus said to do. He said, just go do what I said to do. He said, I'll do the rest.
And he did. And he did. God did great things. He said, God wants us.
Just simply do what he asks us to do and let him do through us what we can't do. And listen, mind in your responsibility is the obedience to do what he asks us to do. His responsibility is to do what you can't do and the outcome. You know how it don't matter.
When you lay hands on the sick, it's not your responsibility. He only came to you. Your responsibility just simply hands on the same mark of the lamp. Mark 16 says, if I lay hands on the sick, then recover.
So I believe when I lay hands on you that you're going to recover and then you walk away. That's all you're supposed to do. It's his responsibility to do to confirm his word. And I believe when we do it and we cooperate with him, we specially do it by faith that he does what we can do.
We can say great miracles. I believe we walk right by past opportunities every day to see great miracles in our lives and believers simply because we don't respond to that little nudge. It says, what's your own part of that person? What you go over and do this?
You know, or do that. Amen. And these kind of examples is what gives us hope that we can do something for the Lord. And at the same time, there's other things that we see people that have had, you know, setbacks or we see the humanity in a leader that we haven't seen before or something like that.
And it can kind of make us think, you know, bad of them or think that God isn't doing something or, but at the same time, we can look at it and go, you know what, because I do see them as a human, because it can be scary sometimes to look at a leader and think more highly of them than you ought to. It can be detrimental to you as a follower because then you do see their humanity. And then you pull back because, oh, I thought they were more than that. Well, that just shows that you've kind of got misdirected faith and misdirected confidence there a little bit loyalty there a little bit, you know, not that that's wrong because we should have confidence in loyalty in our leaders.
But at the same time, we, they're not God and they're going to, they're going to be human. You're going to see the human disrespects in them, but that should give us a little bit more confidence in what the Lord wants to do in us because they are human and they're where they are, you know, we're human and God wants to get us to a certain place. And it's the Holy Spirit that does the work in each of us that gets us to where we want to be. So when we see examples like Ananias and the fact that he even went, oh, no, Lord, and he told him why they're killing people.
I'm not getting healed. I'm not those friends. He was very realistic. You know, you've been hanging out with him?
Yeah. The rest of the church turned her back on exactly. But at the same time, you know, the Lord knew what Ananias was like. He knew his characteristic.
He knew who he was, you know, and that he had personality traits that are different from somebody else that he would have called to do that. But the Lord uses us in our differences, you know, in our personalities, in our, those are our strengths. They are, they are. And you can't judge someone else's ability to minister based on the way you minister and based on the way the Lord works through you because he needs all of us.
He needs us. Oh, now that's not to say that we all should not strive to have our characteristics more in Jesus and be like him. But you know, basically I'm an introverted person, you know, and there's certain things that you have to work on to do other things for the Lord. You know, I'm not saying that's a plus, but at the same time the Lord knows that.
And he can work through that to have me do things that you as an extrovert wouldn't even consider, you know, or wouldn't even look at. But he uses us and he knows what we're like and he uses those as strengths to get done what he needs done. And he needs all of us. And he needs all of those characteristics.
And he needs all of those personalities to fulfill what needs to be done. And we just need to be willing to kind of nice. Well, he might kill me for it, but I'm going to do it. Yeah.
This is what you're leading me to. Yeah. And the amazing thing of it is, you know, the Lord told him, he said, I've already talked to him. I already talked to him.
He knows you're coming. He said, you know, he knows you're coming, you know, and God used him to do a great thing, you know, and I know, and the thing of it is too, when you look at that, you see, he had a vision. So see the, the non gifts of the spirit or manifestations of spirit found the first Corinthians chapter 12 are not something that's uniquely isolated to the 5-0 ministry. I mean, you know, he saw Jesus in a vision.
You know, he had a word of wisdom, a word of knowledge. He knew where Saul was. That's a word of knowledge. He got a glimpse into what God was calling him to do.
That was the word of wisdom, you know, and so he just simply, you know, and all those were contained in that vision that he had. So see the power and the moving of the spirit of God is not just for a special few. It's for anybody that he calls on tap show to shoulder and says, I want you to do this. And when you go to do it, you just are to know that if he's college, you go do it.
He expects it to work out right and accomplish what he wants to accomplish. And now he won't is, all he wants is your willingness and your obedience. He does it. If you could ever get that across, you don't have to be afraid of failure.
Because see, you're not doing it. You just simply do what he says do and let him, it's up to you. It's up to him. You can walk away.
Say, I did my part. He has to do the rest. But he'll surprise you time and time again what he will and can do to you. Amen.
Okay, let's look at, we look at this one here. This was or this was another one where it says, well, in 1 Corinthians 4 18 through 20, that Paul was again dealing with with those. And I don't know if we talked about this one before. I think we I think actually we had there was another one that was either similar, you know, but those that were puffed up.
Now this is this, you know, this is the one we like to this one. You know that the Kingdom of God is not with word only, but it's with power, power is with power of God. So the Kingdom of God, God expects us to operate in his power to enable us. That's the only thing that can enable us to do what he's called us to do.
And so, so actually, oh, that's what it is. We're down here. That's why. Yeah.
Okay. I got it. So let's go to Acts 11 21, Acts 11 21. That's where we were at.
I haven't had it turned there. If you look at Acts 21, read that for us. Yeah, read that one for us. And the hand of the Lord was with him and a great number believed and turned unto the Lord.
Now when you look at that hand of the Lord, that's the King James, of course. But when you look at that, you know, you probably look at that from the Amplified. I probably because that's where I saw that. If you look back at the Old Testament, it says time and time again about the prophets said that the hand of the Lord was on them.
The hand of the Lord was on them. The hand of the Lord was on them. What that literally meant is that the Holy Ghost came on them and empowered them to do whatever was in front of them. The only way that Elijah could mock the prophets of Baal and slaughter 400 of them and have the results he had, fire come from heaven, you know, and consumed his sacrifice because the hand of the Lord was on him because it wasn't long after that.
He's out in the desert somewhere crying and wanting to die because Jezebels want the killing. Well, this is a man that stood in front of 400 prophets and had him slaughtered with bold his brass. And now he's running. Why?
Because the hand of the Lord had lifted. The anointing had lifted. The anointing was no longer on him, empowering him to do what he was called to do. So now he's running from one woman and fearing for his life.
Well, the Lord didn't go for that. He said, get up and go. And he had him go on and do what he called him to do. But what were the point is the hand of the Lord is the anointing is the presence of the Holy Spirit on us.
What's the amplifying? Yeah, 21 it says, and the presence of the Lord was with them with power. Yes. So that's that hand of the Lord.
That gives you a better understanding of what that means. Okay. So the hand of the Lord was with them. And what happened?
So that a great number learned to believe to adhere to and to trust in and rely on the Lord and turned and surrendered themselves to him. That's good. That's good. Why did they do it?
Why did they enable them to do it? It was a hand of the Lord. It was the power and the presence of God operating on these people's lives that showed them that this is the real God. This is the Creator God and this is Jesus is who he says he is and they say he is because of look at this.
Look what happened. The presence and the power of God. See that's what convinces people. That's what changes lives.
That's what pulls people out of the mess of the lives that they've dug themselves into for decades. God, he can change anybody. There's nobody that's too far gone that he can't change. Amen.
What's 1112 that says? Okay. That's a good one. No, I'm sorry.
1311 and 12. 1311 and 12. This is Paul. I believe on that island.
May have been. Yeah, just read it from the amplifier. Okay. This is Acts 13, verse 11.
And now behold, the hand of the Lord is upon you, which we know the hand of the Lord is his power. And you will be blind. So blind that you will be unable to see the sun for a time and instantly there fell upon him, a mist and a darkness. And he groped about seeking persons who would lead him by the hand.
You want to go ahead and go ahead and finish it. Then the Procountce will be lead became a Christian. And when he saw what had occurred, for he was astonished and deeply touched at the teaching concerning the Lord and from him. Isn't that so clear?
I mean how could you not see that? Paul comes to this island and he's trying to share the gospel with this guy was the leader of the entire island of that entire community. And Paul's trying to share a simple with the gospel with him. And this guy is deputy, which was a soussayer, so to speak, tried to stop Paul from sharing with him.
So Paul simply turned around and said, you'll be blind and you'll grow as in the dark. And it was that glory, that same glory that fell on Paul when he was saw that he could not see it wasn't a sickness or disease. Excuse me, but he could not see. And he says, and when this leader solved that, oh my God.
Wow. This guy's not just like we said blowing smoke. This guy's not just, you know, just trying to get us off into something that's some new religion. Yeah, some new idol.
So this guy, he came to the Lord because of that situation. So the very guy that tried to hinder him helped him to convince him that Jesus Christ is the answer. And it says it because of what he saw, and he said, and he turned his whole life to him. And because of that, there's probably his family and those around him.
That I mean, a great revival out of power. See, Paul depended on that power. Paul was not, he wasn't a foreigner to that power. It was something that he was familiar with.
He was not unfamiliar with it. And he knew that when he preached and shared that God would show up and do what he couldn't do. So that's what we probably need to just trust the Lord when we go to share because I found him my own personal life that the Lord, you know, it's like, okay, I know that I'm going to do this and he's going to come on me. Usually, usually it's not that way for me at all.
I'll just be going along and I'll see somebody start to talk to him. And before you know what I'll start talking about the Lord before you know what I was saying, here he'll come. He'll come on me. Who I'm talking to, you can tell this.
They'll swell up. You know, they'll begin to tear up. They'll become you can tell them that this power is affecting them. You know, and I remember one time he was in this place and there's people all around us.
We're standing there, we're parking lot. This guy gets filled with spirit and speaks another time. Right in front of everybody. You know why?
Because I just started talking to him before you know it. One thing led to another, you know, and before you know it, I said, okay, let's just get filled with the spirit. When I did, the Lord showed up and he did for him. The guy walked away crying and laughing filled with the spirit.
You know, and so I mean, I think it's wonderful. And really until you've had an experience along that line, you've not lived. You have not lived. It is the greatest experience.
There is more joy out of that than you just can't get to anywhere else. It's amazing. It really, really is amazing. When you have to be sensitive to him and follow him, because he knows who's heart he's working on on the other side.
You know, he knows because he can, you know, he's connected and he knows that heart is open or seeking something. You know, he knows how to bring him to you. I like to say I've never passed up an opportunity because I have, you know, you pass up opportunities. You're like, man, I should have did this.
But you just said, what I'm available, please help me help me help me. I'm available, you know, and you just keep working with it and working with it. And before you know, it's just like this guy. I mean, every time I turn around, he'd be standing in front of me.
And so I talked to him being nice and did not go back to work. And I looked around, he's there again. And this happened two or three times. And finally he said, I'm just drawing you.
And I said, oh, okay. I'm getting it. I got it now. You know, said you're being drawn for a reason.
And so I just started talking to him. He started telling me his testimony about how he just got saved and how he'd been living on the street basically. And he was an alcoholic. And he still felt like he needed something.
And he was like, okay, I know what you need. So I started sharing with him about the fullness of the Spirit speaking another time. And he just he just believed it. He said, really, I said, yeah, I'll pray for you right now.
That's a God of the Spirit. And he'll give you the power to walk and live this life that he's called you to live. So you don't have to go back to alcohol. You don't have to go back to that in life.
And sure enough, we did it. And God moved in his life. And it's just like, and I'm saying, I cried. Just like, my God, you know, this is wonderful.
You know, and it is. It's really a great thing. But see, that's how it all begins. And that's what we're doing today is if you're out there and you don't know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, this is your day.
Or if you're out there and you need that power that you don't and so we're going to pray a prayer. If you're out there and you've been saved or if you're out there and you've been saved and you're not following Lord, I want you to pray this prayer with us. And we may pray this prayer just a little bit different because I believe there's always other out there that need this power that we're talking about. See, I believe he confirms the word with signs following.
So say this, Jesus, I take you today as my Lord and Savior. I will follow you and serve you all the days of my life. See in Satan, you don't own me. Jesus is my Lord.
Father, thank you for saving me and delivering me out of darkness and into light. And I thank you for filling me with your Spirit. I believe that your Spirit that now dwells in me will swell up inside me and I'll hear the sound that he will give me. And by faith, I will speak it forth.
And as I by faith speak it forth, that Spirit of God will come on me and I will be filled with the fullness of God. And I will use that precious language all the days of my life and I will increase my relationship with you. And we thank you for it in Jesus' name. Now if you prayed that prayer, let somebody know that we can see you again.
God bless you. Have a good day. Please connect with The Rise and Shine by visiting our Facebook page at facebook.com slash a Rise and Shine TV show or emailing us at a Rise and Shine TV at gmail.com. We look forward to connecting with you.
