Well, we're glad to see you again. And while I see you, we can't. We believe you're out there. OK, I know there's somebody out there and you are definitely watching.

And we do hear people, you know, a lot of times that, you know, we're like, oh, OK, we had no idea you had been watching. So we know there's people out there. We don't even know if it's out there. But we're glad to see you.

And we hope you have your Bible with you. If you've got time, get your Bible, let's sit down. Because we want to get into God's Word. And we just expect to Holy Spirit to do some really great things here.

And this is not just about us just getting out here and saying a whole bunch of words and talking. But we believe that there is a transferring. There is, when we begin to share God's Word that He's doing something on the other end, and there's something that's happening supernaturally in your life, and God's going to touch you, show you some things that help you, and answer some of the questions and even some of the prayers that you've been seeking Him about there in this time. So stay with us.

And if you know somebody else call them, let them know. And let's sit here and study God's Word together. Please connect with The Rise and Shine by visiting our Facebook page at facebook.com slash a rise and shine TV show or emailing us at a riseandshinetv at gmail.com. We look forward to connecting with you.

During this session, we're going to talk about, you know we've talked about some other sessions before, about why is God's Word important? I believe we're in a time where God is going to begin to reemphasize the importance of His Word in the life of those that belong to Him, because we need to get back to the basics and the things that the foundational truths of God's Word, and it's really only through God. I mean a lot of people think they know God. They think they've got all these ideals of what He's like.

It just totally violates what His Word says, you know, and I like what our pastor says a lot of times, He says really, and really it's so true. If you want to know what God is like, look at Jesus. Just read Matthew, Mark, look at John. He said, if you've seen me, if you've seen the Father, in other words, you say, in my Father, no, He wasn't the Father, but He's saying, I'm just like Him.

He said, everything you see me do and everything you hear me say. And my response and how I respond to everything, He said, that's exactly what the Father would do, because I'm here to do exactly what He wills for me to do. And so when you look at His life, it's just like, He's overwhelming. His presence is so good, and He's just so amazing.

And He cares for people so much. If you could ever, ever, ever get to know Him on a personal basis, you would not want to ever, ever, ever move away from Him. Because I mean, there's times that I just have to tell Him, like, gosh, I said, I mean, good is so inadequate when it comes to trying to describe what He's like. Good is just, I mean, what else do you say?

I mean, I don't even have the vocabulary, because His presence just gets so overwhelming and so sweet. And so I believe we're in that place where He's putting emphasis on His Word, and we need to understand, we talk about things in the past about, you know, why is God's Word important? We had, you know, that was just scratching the surface. You could want to know and own about why it's important, you know, but now we're going to talk about it.

So now we know what God's Word is, you know, how important it is. You know, how do we, how do we, how do we go about, you know, applying it to our lives? Well, you know what amazing is, is God's Word is just full of instructions on what to do. He didn't just leave us out there to try to figure it out ourselves.

He told us what to do with His Word. And if you go back and study, and look and read, you know, Moses attempted to take the children of Israel out into the, into the promised land, but couldn't do it. I mean, they didn't, they didn't make it because of the people. They were unwilling to cooperate with the Lord and believe Him.

They wouldn't believe Him. So here we go again, Moses now has died and he's off the scene. Now Joshua has this huge responsibility of doing what this great, enormous man of God was not able to do. So, but what does God do?

God gives him the answer and you go back and you can read it when I go back to God and go back and read it. He said this book of the law shall not have part out of your mouth, but you shall meditate therein day and night. In other words, the words that I've spoken to you, he said, don't let them slip from you, but you keep them in your thinking, in your thought life, day and night. And you meditate on them.

He said, when you do, he said you'll have success. He said, and you will prosper. And because I believe because of those instructions, Joshua was able to do what Moses was not. Of course, in that, of course, we didn't have a different generation.

He had all the kids. So he had a fresh start and he didn't have people that had been living in slavery all their life. So, you know, but God's word enabled them to get into the promise land that God wanted them to go into. So we're going to look at Deuteronomy chapter 6, 5 through 9.

And these are some instructions also, you know, that the Lord gave Moses. And we're going to start reading at the verse 5, 6. Deuteronomy chapter 6 and verse 5. You want to read those?

Well, do you want me to pause between each one so you can elaborate or? No, go ahead and go through it. Go through it. And verse 5 is, and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart and with all thine soul and with all thy might.

And these words which I command you this day shall be in thine heart and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children and in thine and thou shalt talk of them when thou sitest in thine house and when thou walkest in the way and when thou lies down and when thou riseeth up and thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes and thou shalt write them upon the post of thine house and on thy gate. So the Lord was pretty detailed, wasn't it? I mean, he told him, he said, and you have to understand, see, you have to understand the environment that they were living in. Kind of like you need to understand the environment you're living in.

A lot of people don't understand the danger that's around them all the time. They think danger is somebody coming at them with a gun. But sometimes it's the evening news. You know, you'd be probably better off somebody.

They try to come at you with a gun because you'd recognize that as a danger. But you have people coming at you all the time with things that are not true, trying to change the way you think, trying to control you, trying to do this and trying to do that and manipulate you. And you don't even recognize it. See, they were in a dangerous place.

They were getting ready to go over into, and once they crossed that Jordan River, they were going into a land that there was enemies over there. And they were not going to like the fact that they were coming. And if they were not able to draw on the presence of God and his angelic forces that he had given to their disposal, and if they mess this thing up, I mean, they were going to go good. They were going to be destroyed, you know?

So they had to do this thing right. And so God gave them and told them what they needed to do to ensure their success. See, and he told them how to do it. He said, the words I've told you, he said, put them everywhere.

He said, don't let them slip. Keep them in the forefront of your thinking, why? Because if you don't, fear will come in and fear will try to cause you to doubt what God works. Because when you get over there and you see, I can imagine when they got over that, they say, like, that guy has got to be at least 15 feet tall.

He's huge. And it's not just one. It's like a whole army of them. They could have been totally overwhelmed, but see God's word, it continually in them gave them the courage and the strength that even when they saw enemies like that, they were so confident that God was going to do what he said he would do, that they went out and got super naturally enabled them to defeat an army that from the natural standpoint was totally ridiculous for them to even try.

But he told them how to do it. You got something to do? No, I'm just thinking about their success was already in place, God already knew where they were going to be and what they were going to do. But at the same time, because we mentioned in one of the other things, God doesn't make people do things.

He has a plan and he has a way of getting you to where he wants you and he gives you all the resources. But you can still make a decision to not believe and to not exercise your faith in what he has and not receive your destiny just because God has a plan and just because he's given you everything that he can for you to get there does not mean that you're just going to automatically end up there. Now, what to say? He's given us verse Peter 2 and second Peter, chapter 1, he's given us all things that retain the life and Godliness.

But the rest part of that verse was he's given us all things that pertain to life and Godliness to the knowledge of him. That's why he said you got to keep it in front of you. You got to keep all of everything that I've said going on, keep it in your eyes, keep it in your ears, keep it going. Because if you don't, it's so easily to let it slip and then to miss your destiny.

And you're constantly being bombarded by these external circumstances and situations. That's why so many people once they especially get a terminal illness, they don't recoporate because the fear factor and the doubt that takes along with it, see fear comes and then that fear makes you want to doubt God's willingness to do what he said he would do and all of that. And before you know it, it's just so easy to give in and it's a fight. That's why Paul said you have to fight the good fight of faith.

And God's given us his words and his word enables us to do that. But the good thing about it is once you begin to get to that place where you're determined and you refuse to let go, he doesn't leave you alone. His spirit comes in and his spirit will strengthen you internally and enable you to stand. He doesn't just give you his cold word and you're just trying to fight this mental battle.

It's not just a mental battle. I mean, the Holy Spirit who lives inside you will undergird you and strengthen you. And it's like, it's just like you become another person. You get outside yourself because you are.

So you're in him and his spirit begins to take control, begins to strengthen you with might. You're in your inner man and before you know it's faith is supernatural. Faith isn't a natural emotion. Faith is a spiritual force that emanates from the very person of God himself.

And when you're operating in that man, I mean, it just comes alive. And you find yourself, could you imagine being in a situation like they were in and going up against that kind of an army? And I mean, just it could have been so overwhelming. I mean, just like with little David standing against the life.

When you step out there and here's this guy that's anywhere from nine to 13 feet tall, it could have been him taller, you know, and the bonus that the young man had. But see, he had spent his time in the presence of God and meditating on his word and God gave him Psalms and different things. And he had had experiences in the past with God and because of that, I mean, a little ready, I mean, a little ready, young man just jumps right out there and he had no fear, no doubt whatsoever. And he was totally really, really, inadequate armed against somebody of his caliber.

And God just used him super natural. See, God wants our cooperation and our cooperation with him is simply believe his word and allow it to be a first part in our life. What's another one? You want to go to Psalms chapter one?

We'll just go through the Bible a little bit and just look at these different scriptures here that God's word gives us about his word. And we know his word is important. Psalms one and we're going to start with verse one. It says, blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor siteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in thy law and in the Lord and in his law doeth he meditate day and not. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that bringeth forth his fruit in his season. And his leaf also shall not wither. And whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

I tell everybody likes that last part, don't they? Wouldn't you like to get to a place in your life where whatever you did just succeeded? Just success. It's just like you had to go and touch a Midas or something.

You know everything you touch seems to turn to go. What God's word says, he's given us a key to how to do it. He said first of all, he said, blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly. In other words, you don't listen.

You don't listen to everything else that's going on. You refuse to listen and to accept and receive what the local news is trying to tell you. You refuse to listen to all of that. That's the first thing you got to do is you refuse, she said, to walk in the counsel of the ungodly nor do you sit in the seat of the or stand in the way with sinners.

In other words, you've chosen to pull away from that sin is not going to be your life. You're not going to go down that you want to do something different. And he says, and also you go on and you do not sit in the seat of the scornful. And no boy, that's a hard one there in it.

Because then you see, you don't have to scornful this, don't you? That's the ones that grumbles and complains about everybody else. You just keep your mouth real quiet and just stay sweet. He said, but now listen, but his delight is where it's in the law of the Lord.

And in his law doeth he meditate day and night. Sounds just like what God told Joshua. He said, meditate in my word day and night. He said, if you'll do it, if you'll meditate in my word day and night.

In other words, put God's word first in your life. Give yourself some time every day to spend time reading God's word. And if something stands out to you, and especially if you have a need, and it does, you know, whatever that need may be, whether it's physical or whether it's financial or whether it's with your family, whatever it is, spend time when you find scriptures that talks about that and God's willingness to meet that need, spend time thinking about those over and over and over again. Meditate on, meditate one of the definitions of that word there, meditate is like to revolve.

It's like a revolver. You got a gun. It's a revolver. Why?

Because every time he pulls the trigger it just goes around and around and around. When he gets to the end, guess what it does? It just keeps going around and around and around and around. It's like a revolving door.

What's a revolving door do? It goes around and around and around and around and around and around and around. It also means to murder. It means to speak out.

Just rarely, you know, murder means to talk to yourself. But you know, you just barely can hear yourself with your outer ears. You say God's word, what? Over and over and over.

We know what we've talked about before, how the devil will put thoughts in your mind and it's like a recorder that's just going over and over and over and over. So he understands that principle. He understands that principle that we're talking about. But he's using it against you with the lies and the seats he wants you to believe.

So what you do is you say, no, no, no, no, no, I'm not thinking about that no more. And you put God's word. When you put God's word, listen, in your mouth and you say it where you can hear with your own ears, listen, it controls your thought life. It controls your thought.

You can't think about the bad when you're speaking what God's word says about you. And when you keep saying it and you keep saying it, you keep saying it, out your mouth, what happens? Every time you say it with your mouth, you're feeding your spirit with it. It's going into your spirit.

And what you think about the most is what you're going to talk about the most. And what you're going to believe. And what you believe, my friend, is what you get. That's what you get.

It's not just that you believe everything that you say. It's just that you say, it's just that you don't even believe. Because you just say them. You know, foolishly or whatever.

But it's the things that you say a lot that you think about a lot. So you can't set around and listen and think about all the symptoms and all the things that the doctors told you, the negative things they told you and receive healing. I've seen it. You go into places where you want to pray for people.

It's going to be hard to get them healed. They can tell you name you all the diseases that they have. They can name you all of the technical terms and all the procedures and all this stuff. But they can't quote you one verse that the Bible says about healing.

You have to get God's word in you. You meditate it day and night. You have to delight yourself in his law. And I choose.

Even when I don't want to, I choose. I love your word. Do you feel like it? No, I don't.

But I still love your word. So you have to understand that the feelings don't mean anything. And that doesn't mean that the Lord's left you. Because as you say that, you just act on it.

You'll be sitting there reading his word and just going through the motions. But sincerely and as you know how, and all of a sudden his sweet presence of his right of his word. So he did lots of that. When he sees you put his word first, that's why he said.

He said, if you'll keep my commandments and I'll love you, he meant that. So he's drawn to people that put his word first in their life. Because he knows that's a genuine love. That's a genuine love.

You have something? Let's go to the next one then. Proverbs chapter two and verse, here we go. Proverbs chapter two and chapter one.

Proverbs has a lot to say about the word of God and how important God's word is. And listen, it's amazing too. It's amazing. It's amazing.

It's known as the book of what? Wisdom. Wisdom. Do you want wisdom?

The book of Proverbs tells you how to get it. I'm going to read that for us. It says, this is verse one. My son, if that will receive my words, if that was not received.

Number one, you got to receive it. Number two, if you'll hide my commandments with thee, we just talked about how to do that, didn't we? How do you hide those commandments with me? You meditate on them.

You feed on them. You allow them to dominate your thought life and you especially allow them to push any other thought that would contradict them out. Don't allow them to do that. Don't allow them to do that.

Don't allow them to push any other thought that would contradict them out. Don't allow a thought in your thought life for a second that violates or contradicts what God's word says about you. He said, and hi, then, my commandments with thee. So, now listen, so that thou incline thy ear unto wisdom and you apply your heart to understanding.

Yea, if thou Christ after knowledge and lift up thy voice for understanding, if thou seekest her a silver and search it for her as for his treasure, then shalt thou, now listen, understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. He said, now, now, now, notice all of that. See we think in our minds it's, well, you know, it's the Lord will do it. The Lord does this in the Lord.

But you notice in those verses the shoe was always on our foot, so to speak. The ball was in our court. He said, if you will, if you'll cry out, if you'll seek it, if you'll do this, if you'll do that. Now notice, he said, you will find it.

He, you will find it. If you won't heal and bad enough and you will and to pay the price for it and you will and to seek God long enough, he'll answer you and he'll show you how. And I know we know and we're not just telling you that because it's something that we thought would be a nice to say. We've experienced this in our own life.

We've been in a place of dire need, especially one time in our life financially and we saw the Lord and we were determined that we were going to seek Him until we got answers and we prayed and prayed and prayed and prayed and prayed and prayed and prayed and prayed, especially in other times. And we read His word, read His word and read His word for not just for hours or even days, but months we did this, determined that we was going to get answers. But then all of a sudden one day, when you least expected it, you're doing the same thing, you've been doing for months with really not at that point, not a whole lot of what you might call expectation. And you're just you're still seeking and determined, you know, then all of a sudden he shows up.

He begins to answer us. And before you know it, our finances begin to turn around. Things begin to change. Why?

Because we did exactly what he was talking about right here. See, we saw it. We were hungry for it. We needed it.

We desired it. And we stayed in front of us, stayed in front of us, stayed in front of us. I found out he, Hebrews 11, 6, the last part says he's a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him. And I'm telling you, he has every answer and every solution.

And if you will seek Him, if you will put Him first, put His word first, I promise you, He is faithful and He will come. And He will show you. See, He had to correct us. He had to show us.

He said, this is where you're missing it. This is what you're doing wrong. Well, if I'm doing something wrong and I can get better results by changing, I don't know about you, but I don't want to change. I want to change.

I want to do the right thing and one of the first things he told us, he said, you do not understand the importance of my word. That was what he told me. And I said, I thought I did. But evidently I don't.

And he began to show me. And he began to show me. Now listen, the very things that we're sharing with you are some of the things that he began to show us. But my word first, feed and meditate on my word, and my word will enable you to be successful in that.

That's what he said. I want to mention a little bit the works that we're talking about. When we say we're getting ourselves in a position and we're doing all of these things, it's not to get God to move His hand. His will is set.

His hand was placed over everything that He had in mind for us when Jesus was crucified and when He took those drops. And when He came from heaven and gave up everything that He had and came down here. All of that was for us and put us in a place where it's ours. It belongs to us when we receive Jesus and when we enter into God's kingdom as His child.

The works that we're talking about are on our side. It's to get our minds. I mean, sometimes salvation for the part for us in the beginning is just so outside of what we can grasp our mind around that it takes us, you know, filtering it, as we've mentioned before, and going over and over and over the word to comprehend the fact that that's really true and God wants it for us. So this part of us keeping the word in our mouths and speaking and believing and reading God's word, this is only because our minds have to wrap around what God wants for us.

It could be as easily as just flipping a switch and making a decision. I believe that it's true and then receive it. But lots of times... It's not the case.

We're so... or we've lived our life. I mean, if you grew up poor, I mean, I grew up, you know, semi-poor, you know, and so coming to the fact that somebody just wanted to give you everything for your life is hard for you to wrap your mind around because, you know, you have a daddy that had to work hard for everything that you had. And it's because of that knowledge that we have received through all of our life, through history, through education, through inheritance.

It's those thoughts that we have to rearrange to get ourselves into place to where we can receive God's word is truth. So when we say that we have to do all of this work is the only word I can think of to do it, it's because it's on our side. It's not to get God to do something for us. I just kind of wanted to make it...

Yeah, well, he's already... Like you said, he's already done it, but a lot of times it's not with healing. See, people really struggle with receiving healing mind. They have been so ingrained with religion for so long that tells them that it's not God's will or if it is God's will.

And it's hard to change all that thinking. But as you meditate on God's word, you meditate on God's word, you meditate on God's word, and God begins to reveal it to you and you begin to over-set and go begin, oh yeah, wow, maybe it is His will to heal me. And it takes time. It does take time.

They say that if you know to learn something, it takes what's set to hear it over and over and over, like seven times. And I've heard if you think contrary to what you're hearing, sometimes it takes me at times it's 21 times. And sometimes I think it takes longer than that, especially if you're still in that environment where you're hearing it all the time. You have to meditate on God's word.

See, God's word will allow you to transform. But if you don't have God's word, you will automatically conform to the world around you. And God wants us to rise above this world. And He wants to live this victorious life that He's given us in Christ Jesus.

And we only do that as we put His word first in our life and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth of His word. And so if you're out there today and you've never accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and as your Savior, this is your day. And if you're out there and you've never, you have but you've walked away from Him, I want you to pray this prayer with us and mean it. Say this with me.

Say Jesus, this is my day. I choose today to make you the Lord of my life. I choose to turn my back on sin and on my lifestyle in the past and to give my life to you. I can't change Jesus, but you can change me.

Please change me. Make me a new creature. Satan, I no longer serve you. You are not mine.

Sin is not my master. Thank you Father for hearing my prayer and receiving me in Jesus name. If you prayed that prayer today, then Jesus Christ is your Lord. Let somebody know.
