Welcome. We're glad you guys could join us today. We've been talking about the power of belief and we're going to get started, I believe, on Romans 10 and 10. He'll probably tell me a curve and say we're going somewhere else.
But if you have your Bible, you can go there. We will get there at some point. But we're glad that you've joined us and hope that you're going to receive from the word of God today and apply it to your life and receive the fruit thereof. Please connect with The Rise and Shine by visiting our Facebook page at facebook.com slash a Rise and Shine TV show or emailing us at a Rise and Shine TV at gmail.com.
We look forward to connecting with you. Come in. Okay. We'll just do that right there.
We'll go to Romans 10 and I won't work over this time. But I've got my fingers stuck here in other places. Okay. So let's go to Romans 10, very familiar scripture for some.
I know it is for us and possibly for you as well. You go ahead and read that just to set the stage so we'll understand that this is probably the classic verses where it tells you exactly how to be born again. And there's truth in there that is really amazing truth that a lot of times we overlook and don't understand the importance of it. What's the word that you say about what you say with your mouth and what you believe in your heart?
In fact, go back to eight and read it. Eight. What's the word that's not even in their mouth and in their heart? Stop right there.
What did he say? Where is the word supposed to be? Number one, he did. See, I believe that he said this exactly the way the Holy Spirit meant it to be said.
He said, number one, the word is where? It's in your mouth. Because once it's in your mouth, it's in your heart. So what you say with your mouth is what goes into your heart.
Okay. And go ahead and read. What is the word of faith which we preach? That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth, the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
And then our verse 10 says, for with the heart may be leaved unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. So say he puts the mouth first in both of those two and tells you how important it is at what you say and in believing your heart. See, and that's how you change what you believe is you say it with your mouth. But you've got to really go back even further than that when it comes to you have to renew your mind.
And as we talked about that before, how important it is to renew your mind. Because, well, let's turn over to Luke. We'll turn over there to Luke because we didn't mention this once before, but we just want to look at it because I want you to see it from your Bible. And Jesus in his discourse, according to the Saint Luke, in his teaching he was talking about, and primarily he's, you know, because he had those in his crowds just like we have in crowds today.
You know, they say they believe they say this and they say that. And of course, all the Pharisees, the Sadducees and the Herodians, all that religious crowd, you know, they were supposed to be so right with God. But at the same time, they were not nice people. By fact, they were the ones actually that eventually wasn't the Romans that had crucified.
It was those guys. Okay. And they did it. The Bible says because, by fact, Pilate was even smart enough.
You read this. Pilate was even smarter. He says he knew that they had delivered him to him because of envy. In other words, they were jealous because of the results and the popularity that he had and people were believing in him.
And because they were believing in him, they were seeing them for who they were and exposing them. And they didn't like that. So that's why they had him crucified. And so he's dealing with that same crowd here because when he said here in verse 43, he said, for a good tree, bringeth not forth corrupt fruit.
Now he's not talking about, he's talking about trees, but this is a parable. He's actually talking about people. In other words, he's saying that a good man, okay, bringeth not forth corrupt fruit. Neither doeth a corrupt man bringeth forth good fruit.
Okay. In other words, if you're an evil person, you're not going to be able to bring forth good fruit. Now, where's fruit is corresponding action and proof of what you say you believe. That's good, buddy.
So I didn't think that would happen. See, that's what fruit is. It's corresponding action. It's proof.
You say you believe something, okay, prove it. And you prove it by bearing fruit. And if you're an evil tree, you can't bear fruit. In other words, if what's in you is evil, if your heart is evil, if what's going on inside of you is contrary to what is good, then it's impossible for you to bring forth corresponding action that is good.
It's not going to happen. He goes on and forth and says, for every tree is known by his own fruit. It's easy to judge who people are. Are you genuine?
Are you really a Christian? We see people all the time, they're Christians. And the other guy do is just be around the blue. He goes like, well, you may be a Christian, but I don't think you're born again.
This Christian thing has become a cliche. It's become a buzzword. It's become trendy. There you go, trendy.
So he goes on and says, he says, for thorns men do not gather figs in order of a bramble bush gather thy grapes. A good man. Now listen, out of the good treasure. In other words, now say he's changed it from tree to man.
A good man. Now listen, out of the good treasure or what he stored up inside of him or what he has considered or determined that is important and of value to him. That's what you allow into you. This is important.
It becomes something that you value. So you embrace it and you store these things up inside you. So a good man puts good things in him. He says, he said, and bring it forth that which is good.
And an evil man. Now listen to this. The evil treasure of his heart, bring it forth that which is evil. In other words, why he has stored up inside him.
What he is considered to be a value. What he is considered to be important to him. He has allowed into him. Now we're talking about beliefs guys.
We're talking about why we do what we do and why we believe what we believe and how we come to this place that we are where it's just like, oh my gosh, I can't even believe I'm here. Sometimes we wake up, don't even recognize ourselves for who we are. It's just like, how did I get here? Well, we're giving you the answers right here.
It's because of what you believe and what you have exposed yourself to. Guys, you can't sit and watch porn every day for hours and not become the same. You can't do that very thing. You will become that.
And there may have been a time in your life when you thought that you would never do something like that. And how can people allow that kind of stuff? It's little by little. Time after time, after time, over time.
And you let your guard down a little, you let your guard down a little. Before you know it, you're full blown into it. And now you become it. And now you wonder why you're having trouble with your marriage.
Now you're wondering why you have trouble in society and around other people because you want to do things, you know you aren't not to be doing. And you don't even realize how you got there. But you did it by exposing yourself to the wrong things. You allowed something into your life to the point where you began to be important to you.
So you do what's important to you. That's what you do your time. That's what you're in it. You're in it.
You spend your time doing what's important to you. That's what you value. And what we don't realize is what we spend our time doing and exposing ourselves to is all the time determining who we're going to be. Oh my gosh.
But I tell you what, I believe it would behoove us or to move us to the point where we would change some of the things that we do because you're not going to like the results you get. And then what we'll do is we'll get into that position where we'll have a marital problem and we'll blame it on everybody. But the real thing, how did you get there? You know, wasn't your spouse's fault all the time?
Not 100% of it anyway. You know, everybody's a blame to a certain degree, I'm sure. But you can't blame everything on somebody when you're doing the wrong thing and putting the wrong thing in you. So you get the end of the result of it.
And it's not the people that produce its fault. You know, they got a fault, but that's not it. You have a choice. You have a choice.
You can say no or you can say yes to every source, every bit of information that comes into your life. You can say no. I don't want anything to do with that. Or you can say yes, I embrace that.
That choice is ours. We choose what we believe. And it goes on and says, I want to get to this last part of this. It says, and an evil, it says, and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart, ring and forth that, which is evil.
Now listen, we're out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth, speaketh. So what is that saying? What's that saying to you, Melissa? What you put in is what's going to come out.
Everything that you allow your time and energy to be focused on is going to deposit something on the inside of you. So that talks a lot. So you have to see the Bible talks about James, how that you cannot a man cannot control the words that he says. And what he's talking about over there is, and you can't control.
You can't just decide, okay, I'm just going to never say the wrong thing. Never make mistakes. Never make mistakes. I'm never going to say the wrong thing.
I'm always going to do what's right because I just make that decision, but that's the type of person I'm going to be. From here for forever. Yes. Well, so you can't do that.
You don't have the power to do that because what we don't understand is the words that we say, our actions, everything about us, every way that we express ourselves is the end result of what's on the inside of us. And what we put on the inside of us the most is what's going to come out of us. Jesus said, what is in your heart, the inner man, your mind and your spirit. What you put in you the most in abundance.
What's going to come out of your mouth? So now you understand why you can't, now listen, this could really help you if you get a hold of this. I don't know what the situation is, but if I spend all my time magnifying in my thought life about all of the things that Melissa does that bothers me and it's just different than what I do. If you spend all your time thinking about those things and you focus on them, I got news for you.
Now you may not do it that day. You may not even do it that week. You may not even do it that month, but you keep pondering on that. You keep rolling that over and over and over inside of you.
I promise you there's going to come a time when there's going to be that moment that is going to come out of you. And obviously you've got this massive argument and you think that this whole argument was her fault or the situation's fault when the real problem was and where it really emerged from, was your thought life over the last days and weeks and even months. So you just, you just expose what's only inside of you. So your words are an expression of who you are.
Your actions are an expression of what kind of person you are. And then all we can, it begins with what you allow in your thought life out of the abundance of the heart and the mouth speaks. That's amazing. I mean it gives us the ability guys.
We can control what kind of person we want to be. What kind of person do you want to be? And it's all about those influences. Because all of us are pretty much, have the same influences.
We're exposed to Hollywood or society, communities, television and all those things. You know make it impact. But then how we allow that to change our actions and our thoughts are what is going to determine how we act. That's really good.
So even, I mean if your influence has never changed and you just decided to start looking at those influences with more credibility than you did before, then that's why you can't make that decision from now forever to never make a mistake. Because those influences are always going to be there. It's not a surface thing. It's not something that you just do from a surface.
It's an emerging. It's just like. It's time and energy and spent on something. So even though that influence is there, if you don't give any power to change you, then you're not yielding your system.
It's like an apple tree deciding I'm just going to produce pairs. The only way you can do that, the only way apple tree can produce anything different than apple is you're going to have to graft something in, that it becomes a part of it. And then whatever you graft into it is going to change the nature of the fruit. Can you see that?
So that's where we get all these hopper roots and vegetables now. What man has done has taken something and they have grafted something into it causing it to become something that it wasn't not before because you have to take something and make it a part of it. And it becomes a part of it internally. And that's what thoughts are doing our lives.
Wrong thinking. And that's what we're going to do. We're going to produce wrong believing and wrong believing will produce wrong words and wrong actions. If you want to change your actions, if you want to change your words and your words have a tremendous effect on what happens in your life.
I mean, that's what makes the difference in whether being born again or not. Just because you decide to believe something mentally means nothing. You got to come out of your mouth and say, yes, I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God's. And I receive him and embrace him into my life.
That's when the real change takes place because see it becomes a part of you. That's when he engrafted his life into your nature and he changed your nature from the inside out. And now you can produce a different fruit. You went from being an evil person to being a good person and you could literally bear a new fruit because you've been engrafted into him.
You're that branch that has now been engrafted into him who is the vine. My gosh, that's good. That's real good. Yes.
And so you become like him. See, we're talking about the power of a belief. Let's look at Proverbs chapter four, I mentioned it once before in this little time that we've been doing on what it means to believe and just how much power a belief has in your life. And there's so much in this chapter that is so rich and so good.
And so we just have to take a segment out and talk about it because you don't have time to do all of it. I mean, my gosh, we just could go on and on and on. But you can go back and read the verses that proceed this and it comes up to this and it talks about evil men and what evil men do. It does.
And it tells us not to be a part of them, not to be with them because they're walking in darkness and they eat the bread of wickedness. Now listen, the bread of wickedness, are you ready? It's wrong thoughts. It's wrong thoughts.
So you eat the bread of wickedness and drink that wine of wickedness. And that's wrong thoughts that we allow into our lives. And it says they walk in darkness and they don't even know what they stumble over. But then it goes on in verse 20.
We could start before, this is verse 21st, chapter 4, Proverbs 4 and 20. My son. I'm sorry. We're here.
We're here. We're here. We're here. We're here.
We're here. We're here. We're here. We're here.
We're here. We're here. We're here. We're here.
We're here. We're here. See that. And I've seen he said, my son of a tent.
Right after he said, don't eat the bread of wickedness. You don't go down that path. And he tells us, let not thy words depart from before you. I know you've got to keep the word in front of you all the time.
You can't just choose it. Okay. I will be good from now. Like we said, because you can't.
See, it takes God's word, feeding on God's word every day just like we eat natural food. To stay alive spiritually and to walk in the victory that God has for us. We have to, we have to partake in this book and feed on this book all the time. Well, because those other influences don't go anywhere.
They're still there. That's right. They're still there. They're still there.
We keep their eyes. We keep them in the midst of that heart. So how did we say we got in our heart? See, that's what we're talking about.
Keep it in the midst of your heart. It's out of the abundance of the heart. The mouth speaks. So he said, keep it in your heart.
Let it live in your heart. Let them not depart from that eyes. Keep them in the midst of that heart for they are life unto those that find them and health to all their flesh. See, that's, he's telling us right there.
That is, that is so potent what he said. He has taken so much enormous revelation and understanding and putting those couple of verses. If we could just get a hold simply of what he's saying right here, you could change your whole She goes right on and read the next verse. Keep that heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life.
So the next thing he says, he says, let the Word stay in your heart and then he says, protect it. What? Protect it from everything else. Everything that's contradictory to God's Word says, God's Word is life.
It is the tree of life. He said there's this other source, this other source of information. He said it's death. He said shut the door on it.
He said, don't let it in. In other words, that word, keep literally means to place a hedge of thorns around. It's like a fort, an old-timey fort out in the west. What did they do?
Where there was a lot of danger, the first thing they did was they would fortify that area. Why? To keep your heart. To keep your heart.
Fortify your life with my word. Don't let anything else into your life, but my word, because my word is life and it will also heal anything that tries to attach yourself to your flesh. That's good. He's talking about how to believe the right things and how to keep the wrong things out.
Amen? There's scripture in Psalms, maybe Proverbs where it talks about your tongue as a pen. Ever ready writer? Psalms.
Yeah. I'm not sure if you're reading writer. It's Psalms, but I have to get by the Bible to find it. It's the second column.
I'm here somewhere. But that's a good way to put it. Because lots of times people tell you, you know, especially if you're studying in college or something like that, they tell you lots of people retain knowledge from writing. So when you write something, you know, it helps you to retain that.
That's why I'll print them out. See, there's no notes on here. There's just verses and there's just things that, you know, the points, a point maybe on each one, but we don't do this, but I do this because it helps me. And when I said, sometimes I'll top them on a computer and print them off.
And sometimes I'll top out the verses. And I do that because what am I doing? I'm not only looking at it, but I'm the more you engage yourself in it, the process gets it down on the inside of you. Well, he says to get it into your heart and you do that with your mouth.
Yes. And you keep it in your eyes? Yes. And keep it in your mouth.
So it's extremely important. You know, and we're talking about how to radically change your life. I mean, you could look at it what Jesus said and John, I believe it was it, John 8 and 32 or something like that where he said, if you'll continue in my word, he said you'll know the truth and the truth will make you free. See, it's the same process of, and really, just to be honest with you, you can say, you know, Jesus is really important to you and you really love him and he's really first in your life.
But if God's word is not, you're really deceived and don't know it because you cannot love him until you have it. The more understanding you have of this book read and rightly divided, the deeper your love for him is going to be. And the more you honor and respect you pay for this to this book and God's word is that's going to determine your whole life. So in a lot of people, you know, I just want to mention to say, even bluebirds love the Lord.
I love the Lord, you know, and it becomes such a crusade. It's kind of like, you know, be blessed. It's just a buzzword. You know, and a lot of people don't even have any understanding of concept of what it means to bless people.
They don't even know. You know, it's just become a buzzword to them. It's just something that they say. And we could go to other scriptures.
I mean, there's other scriptures that we'd like to go to. The book of Matthew talks about it, you know, about your connection with, you know, of your words and it says out, it says what I said, he said to store it for yourself, you know, for where your heart is, for your treasure is, there will be your heart also. And, you know, and in that, in those verses, you know, that's, if you will give you these, this is in Matthew 6, 19 through 19 and verse 19 and 2, 23, it talks about it. But then 25, 28 and 34 is the classic that you hear like we said, take no thoughts, saying what with shall we be close with, what shall we eat, and all these things.
Well, he said, take no thought three times. He said, take no thought. And he said that right on the heels of saying, he said, he said, he said, for where a man's heart is, there will be his treasure. And he talked about light and darkness.
He said, the light of the body is the eye. And if your eye be full of light, then your body is going to be full of light. If the light that be in you be darkness, how great is that darkness? And he's not just talking about daylight and dark.
What he's talking about is what you embrace and allow into your life. You allow the wrong things in and it will darken your understanding and the reality of what's going on around you and the truth. See, I'm amazed that there's people out there, they have no idea of where we are right now in the plain of God and in society and where everything is taking us. You talk to people about what's going on and she's like, what, what, what, guys, we are so close to the seven year tribulation that you could almost smell it.
And everything you're seeing is simply birth pains that's leading us down to that. So what that means is I'm pre-millennial. Jesus is coming before the rapture. You believe what you want to, but I believe he's coming before the rapture.
And so what that means is, or the tribulation, I'm sorry, I believe he's coming before it. So therefore, I mean, he could come anytime. He could come anytime. So if you're out there today and the things, if this makes you nervous, talk it like this, you know, then that's probably a good sign that you're not ready.
You know, because you already have peace, you already have that confidence and that quietness inside that says, I know things ain't right. And you know, but it's okay, you know, if he comes tonight, I'm ready. Now, if you can't say that with absolute confidence, there's any doubt in your mind and your heart and your own, or if you don't like hearing these things, that's a really good sign you're not ready. And that's really, you ought to realize that's the holy ghost letting you know that, you know, you need to fix this.
Guys, eternity is not a vacation. Eternity is forever and there is no end. We can't even comprehend that. So if you're out there today and you've never made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, well, you're out there and you say, I have, but I'm not really walking with him, then I want to encourage you to pray this prayer with us right now.
And I'm going to pray for you, first Father. I pray for every here and I pray that you do in their lives, or what only you can do. Let them see, let them understand and let them, which sincerity and genuinely, Lord God, make this quality decision to embrace Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Now say this with me.
Say Heavenly Father, I take Jesus today as my Lord and as my Savior. I embrace him from now through out eternity. Satan is not my Lord. Jesus is my Lord.
I do not serve sin. I choose to serve Jesus Christ. Thank you Father for hearing my prayer and coming into my life today and causing me to be born again. Thank you for filling me with the fullness of your spirit.
I will do my very best with your help to live for you all the days of my life. And I thank you for it in Jesus name. Amen. Now if you prayed that prayer today, let us know.
There's ways out there, Facebook, social media, emails and post office box and they still make envelopes and stamps. Yes. And thank you for those that have been writing us. We really appreciate it.
We try to get back to you as soon as we can. Yes. And we just want to help people. We want to give, you know, we're living a time where people, we need answers and we need to understand.
Guys, if you set around and all you do is listen to the news media, you want to jump off a cliff. But if you get into God's Word, it will encourage you and give you hope and give you such an excitement about tomorrow. And God bless you and we're out of time. We'll see you again.
