Being deep in the Rolling Stones world opened a lot of doors.Max had the record store, he was plugged into the Stones network, and when big shows came through, people would show up. Collectors. Fans. Hustlers. Road people. Everybody had something.One day, these guys came into the store with bootleg Rolling Stones shirts.And they were badass.White long sleeve shirts, nothing like Max had seen before. They even had a phone card promotion tied to them, with the Stones tongue on the card. You bought the shirt, got a $5 phone card, scratched it off, called the number, and used it like people did back then.It was very 90s.But Max knew Norman was going to be hot.When a huge concert rolled into town, they were already watching for people scalping tickets, selling bootleg merch, or trying to hustle outside the show.Those guys went to Norman anyway.And as Max was walking in, he saw them get arrested.For shirts.They were from Canada, following the tour, moving city to city, trying to make money on the road.That was part of the old concert economy too.Official merch inside. Bootleg shirts outside. Ticket hustlers in the parking lot.
