Shortly after studying at the California College of the Arts in San Francisco, a dog named Lobo came into her life. Their deep connection was cut short when Lobo suddenly died of cancer during the pandemic. Turning to painting during a grieving process, Mariana found her way back to art and has been making these portraits ever since.  Mariana, your unique ability to convey the energy and presence of the animals is striking and powerful.  Not only in your rendering but also your ability to see the animal for who they are.
