from A Spiritual Journey from Dust to the Fire of Mission · host Father Robertus Bambang Rudianto SJ
DAY 86: THURSDAY OF THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD, 14 May 2026| Acts 1:1-11| Psalm 47:2-3,6-7,8-9| Ephesians 1:17-23| Matthew. 28:16-20.The Opening Prayer of the Risen Jesus to Heaven, You have completed Your work on earth and promised Your participation until the end of time. Fill us with the fire of messengers so that we may be worthy to proclaim Your love for all creatures. Amen.Gospel Quotes "Know this, I am with you always, even unto the end of the age."The Main Reflection The Ascension of God is not a sad farewell, but an empowering mission. Jesus was raised up so that He could be present in a new presence everywhere through His Spirit and through us, His disciples. In a modern society that is often constrained by profane worldly boundaries, we are sent to bring the message of universal brotherhood to "all creatures." The Ascension affirms that the Christian faith is a faith that is sent—not a faith that dwells only at the height of spiritual comfort, but that dares to restore harmony in "Our House Together."Three Spiritual Windows• Ignasian Window: Human life is essentially sent solely for the praise, honor, and service of God (Magis).• Franciscan Window: To go beyond one's own group boundaries to embrace all beings in one noble brotherhood.• Window I Thirst: "Jesus thirsted for the world to know the Father's love through the hands and feet of our mission".Daily Reflection1. To which field (family, work, or community) do I feel I have been sent specifically to bring God's hope today?2. How do I bring the love of Christ into even my most profane social interactions?
