Ask a Man 20 Aug '25: 'Why am I abusive towards my partner?'

Anonymous has been with her partner for about two years now, after coming out of a 13-year relationship that produced two children.  This weekend, when she happened to be using his phone, she found voice notes from some other lady that were suspicious, she got angry and hit her partner.  She comes from a toxic and violent background which she thinks has led to her aggressive behaviour towards her partner.  She’s hit her partner on two separate occasions and feels terrible about this. She doesn’t want to continue reacting this way and wonders how she can fix herself and repair their relationship.
