Recognising his potential, Paul undertakes the demanding task of preparing his young friend for ministry and future leadership. He circumcises him for strategic reasons, adds him to his travelling companions and patientl,y mentors him by teaching and example for many years. We too need mentors throughout our Christian lives that, like Timothy, we also might bear fruit to God's glory.
