NEWS + AUDIO FROM AUGUST EVICTION AT THE WALL OF FORGOTTEN NATIVES Second Half Recorded On Location at Wall of Forgotten Natives (8/24/23) On August 24th, 2023 after distributing notices of eviction the day before State Patrol Troopers on behalf of the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MNDot) evicted a large group of indigenous and unhoused people from the area of the Wall of Forgotten Natives. Luckily much of the personal property of these folks had been removed prior so the state could not steel it but the individuals evicted did not have a place to go. This eviction came the day after someone who had a regular presence at the encampment, Dan Dan, died while first responders (according to witnesses accounts) stood by and did not properly intervene to save his life.
