Author and Consultant, Stanley Buford

Stanley G. Buford was born in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Buford studied at Illinois State University and holds master’s degrees from National-Louis University in Management/Human Resource Development and DePaul University in Curriculum Development. He has appeared as a guest on the nationally televised show, “Heartbeat of America,” in a frank discussion concerning challenges to climbing corporate and educational ladders. He owns and operates a state certified management consulting business, Terkat Consultants Inc. Stanley has served as the Program Director in the School Partnerships Program, a school improvement project at DePaul University. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member at Concordia University. He is a recipient of the National Leadership Award in Business and has also been awarded the prestigious Keeping America Strong Award. Mr. Buford started a mentoring program (From Boys To Men Network Foundation) in 1991, which seeks to improve the quality of life for school-age boys in Chicago’s inner city. He also assists in the organization and administration of the church’s Big Brothers Mentoring Program as the Parent Liaison. In this role he organizes and oversees parent group leaders, as well as developing academic and social enrichment curriculum. Stanley has worked as teacher, coach, and facilitator and has coordinated a variety of school related programs during his more than 20 year tenure in the educational field. He believes in the power of parental involvement in the process of changing urban education to meet the needs of its residents.
