Joining them is  Barry’s wife, Julia L. Mayer, Psy.D., is a Philadelphia area-based clinical consultant, author, and co-host of the podcast Shrinks on Third about psychology and social justice. During their 35 years of marriage, Barry and Julia were caregivers over a nine-year period for Julia's father and Barry's mother with vascular dementia and Barry's stepfather with Alzheimer's disease. Their just-published book is The AARP Caregiver Answer Book, a book-length FAQ with the answers to nearly 150 questions that caregivers commonly ask.
