Authors Tuesday Episode with Marci G Cox

Hi all thanks for tuning into my interview with Author Marci G Cox. Was excellent talking to Marci on the show today. In 2018 Marci was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer,while undergoing an aggressive course of treatment, which included a double mastectomy without reconstruction surgery, chemotherapy which resulted in complete hair loss and everything else related to the cancer, she spoke to her daughters openly and in a way that they could understand her disease and not feel threatened about possibly losing their mother.  Marci’s experiences and the way she fought through the difficult days of treatment led to writing this book about communicating a diagnosis of cancer to her daughters and how others with the same condition can convey the ultimate message being “Mommy may look different, and it will take time for Mommy to heal – but in the end, she will get better!”   Once Mommy Has a Boo-Boo was written other books and journals followed. Marci found a passion for helping women going through a breast cancer diagnosis. She wanted to pay it forward and help others. Marci has broadened her cancer genre and recently published another children's book, Michael the Magnificent Fights Back and Maggie the Magnificent Fights Backabout a child learning they have cancer.   In 2020, Marci launched Flor Publishing, named after her daughters Lily and Autumn.
