Both Reading and Writing are biologically secondary knowledge. That means we need to apply explicit instruction for our students to learn effectively. Both Reading and Writing are also complex which means high cognitive load, especially in the initial learning process. So to be successful in teaching writing and reading it is really important that we are systematic, structured and apply evidence informed strategies.
