KCMO, KCKS, and the state of Missouri have some kind of law or ordinance that requires removing the "have you ever been convicted of a felony" box on employment applications for government jobs. Today we learn about the Federal laws and how the EEOC enforces them. Host Nancy Leazer talks with Teresa Wilke an EEOC investigator about helping those who feel they have been discriminated against for their past. It is not as clear cut as one might imagine and navigating the system takes some help. Sharon Snyder worked at the Jackson County Courthouse for 34 years and is now out of a job for doing the right thing.. *We were unable to get our scheduled guest, journalist Greg Gagne on the phone so we replayed the interview below. 20-year-old Robert Nelson was convicted in 1984 of rape and sentenced to 50 years behind bars, today at the age of 49 he is a free man.
