This song was about his experiences in the music industry. He was already a veteran of many different bands. None of them had lasted long enough to reach a satisfactory level of being. This song is about his determination to continue. It also succinctly summarises the nature of some of the unreliable characters he had encountered along the way. Fool in the Sea of Sharks was attempted by The Masters of Drone, but that band didn't last very long either. Shortly afterwards, the Tascam portastudio arrived and George struck out on his own for a while.
