There is a break where the chords are Dmaj7 and Fmaj7. Hard Times was part of the set of Wud and they would use it to close their set. It is the second part of Flashback, which had three parts. Richard helped with a few of the later lyrics and the bass part was influenced by what Marc used to play. There was a drummer who couldn't understand the beat of this song and sat looking embarrased and uncomfortable on his drumstool until the end. He was sacked after the show.
