Most of the music for the concept album was composed in the spring and early summer of 1983. The lyrics for the concept album songs came later. Some of the lyrics were written in the summer of '83 and more in the following months and years. The concept album was loosely based on the computer game Wizardry, by Andrew Greenberg and Robert Woodhead. The software title was a huge and groundbreaking success on the Apple II in 1982. The date of this song is an anomaly and suggests either a re-write or an estimation of when the original version was composed. There is a note on the lyrics sheet that says 'Vostok's Song' - presumably one of the characters in the story.
