Each of the three verses was written for a different person. Played live, George would turn the Electric Mistress on and off. All the knobs were turned up to the maximum. In this version, he didn't like the click it made, so it was used in the Tascam 244's auxilliary channel. This was a stereo channel but the effect was only in mono, so the results are a bit strange. Some of the song is in 6/8 and some is in 4/4, so the Boss Dr Rhythm had to be turned on and off at appropriate moments.
